I know the question was for my girl jamie Emoticon) but,I have helped several rescues with hworm positive dogs and Crosby Vet was cheapest by a long shot.Under 100 for small dog ,150 for big dogs. Most places,cheapest quote was 350. 4951

Yep, I'd go with Crosby vet. The 2 part injection is around 200 something and 3 part injection is around 300. They are the cheapest around and that is where we will be taking our foster dog for 2 injections once he is done with his iverheart in a couple of months. 4951

Thanks!! @xjamiex and @mariasmith

I just got out of Lonestar Vet and the got me to sign up for the platinum plan at $40 a month and the heartworm treatment was still going to cost $350, now I will downgrade that and take Lil bastard to Crosby

@mm4731:

Call Crosby to double check the prices and info on treatment before you make a trip out. I would get information on what each vet includes with their treatments and then compare.

$270 is still good..not as good as low as it was before...but, I know the meds tey use have become more expensive and harder to get....Some regulation mess over it... Anyways,still better than all other places. One vet quoted me $800 with a rescue discount!!!  4951

Just got back from new pup first visit at KW Vitalpet office on Lake Houston near post office. WHAT an eye opener. Will never go back. $263.00 - what a ripoff but more than that - what an uncaring and scary place..
Besides incredible bill (they are clearly all about the money), there were 4 incidents that should have never happened : (1) Vet Dr. comes into room asking for stool sample....No One had asked me to
bring one in; (2) miss-mix on vaccines injection with one vaccine left out (tech said a misunderstanding!) meant second shot to 12 week old pup!; (3) upon trying
to get puppy back out of the carrier, VET let the puppy fall off the exam table!!. (4) Upon getting home to look over the drugs they had given me to administer later to our puppy - heartguard and flea application - I noticed
the items had been labeled completely backwards! Irresponsible and Sloppy!! Wish I had checked out Vitalpet first. I am now so very worried about puppy's condition after such a horrible fall. Pet owners beware of
Vitalpet. 4951

@BlueLake: I live around the corner from Kings Crossing AH and I will not go there. There are 4-5 vets in the Vita Vet Group (or whatever it's called) WAY overpriced every last one of them. This past  Sunday I drove to Atasazoo on 1960 & was very happy with the service, care, price & staff. 4951

I take mine to Atascazoo. Very affordable, nice building, and extremely caring staff. You can tell they love animals. If you don't mind driving to find something cheap, there is an animal hospital in Aldine where I take my dog to get her shots. Got her shots for very very cheap, but I wouldn't recommend them for checkups. They tried prescribing my dog meds that would cost $250 for arthritis (which she doesn't have), and tried to make me believe that she had dirty ears and needed a cleaning at their office, although I had just taken her to get groomed that day. 4951

@BlueLake: Try loop 494 vet-they are awesome. We take both pups there and when issues arise, will take any of our 6 pets.  Hope your pup is feeling better!
