Anyone here a member? According to the news for the Tribune today the KSA is more than a little miffed about their drinking habits. The article says that the adults involved have been hanging around after games to consume alcohol on the park property and leaving beer cans and broken bottles on the field. I'm not anti drinking but leaving your trash all over is just downright disrespectful to anyone who wants to use the park after you. In the article it mentions that the girls softball league has to clean up the mess on saturday mornings before their games. Anyone witness this stuff going on? Just curious if the article from the Tribune is an accurate depiction of what's really happened. ourtribune.com/artic le.php?id=17305 4951

@Drekonix: So, Saturday morning the park is full of beer cans, and KSA assumes it's the softball league as opposed to young adults hanging at the park after hours? Interesting...

@topcat: I guess they've had some witnesses.

@Drekonix: The article says they had witnesses to the drinking, but not the littering.  The bottles and cans are there in the morning, so at anytime during the night kids could be out there hanging and drinking.  I think the two are unrelated.  I think they have jumped to conclusions. Now go do that rain dance...

This is a major problem. I have witnessed the drinking by the Friday night church league, as well as the mess left behind for my daughters game on Saturday morning. Another problem is the umps for the Men's league smoking on the field and throwing their cigarette butts on the field. 4951

This is definitely disappointing to hear. I myself have played in the church league off and on for the last 7 yrs. My games were always on Friday nights and I never once witnessed any alcohol being consumed , and if profanity was used you were immediately warned by team captains or umpires. A few bad seeds could cost the entire league.  4951

I played the last two seasons with my husband on Sundays and never saw a mess or a drop of alcohol being consumed.  My guess would be kids at night.  Looks like a great place to "hide out" and drink.  Everyone that I played with in our league was super respectful, cleaned up after their kids had snacks ect.  Our league is not playing this fall, presumed due to this issue, and we are all very upset about it because we were given no reason why or warning previously.  Sad to punish all for a few's behaviors.  4951
