You guys really need to address this. If it's chronic - that's no way to live.I think I may have posted this stuff before, so apologies if I'm repeating myself. Talk to a doctor. They may recommend a sleep study, but as my first doctor said - what are they going to tell you? That you can't sleep? He first let me try Ambien, then Temazepam, then Lunesta, which I've been on for a long time. If I don't take it, and what I had to deal with before, was going to sleep about 10. Wake up about 12:30, then again at 1, 1:30, 2:15, 3:00, and so on. Felt more like a bunch of small naps than a good night of sleep.I did the sleep study, and my 'sleep specialist 'tried things - keeping the same schedule, even on weekends, CPAP, mouth appliance (to address apnea), techniques to make you relax. None of it worked very well.So I'm back to where I started with my first doc - I take melatonin and Lunesta, and I sleep well. Every now and then, I drink some Kava before bed. Also, alcohol can help you FALL asleep, but it will also wake you up later. Also, no caffeine after about 3 pm. Those things helped me.You will be amazed how much better you feel with proper rest!
@scamp: Sounds like my nights since about two years ago. I'm out like a light as soon as my head hits the pillow, but I'm up every hour and a half to two hours all night long. Frankly, it sucks. I think its sleep apnea, as I catch myself gasping when I wake up. But have to go do a sleep study for that, and that's going to be a pain in the patootie as well.Â
