The prices for AR15s have really dropped.  Where you paid $1000 a year ago, you can get now for about $600.  Those are direct impingement models.  Piston models dropped from around $2000 to $1000.That's a nice firearm! 4951

Why buy a pre built box stock AR when you can build your own exactly how you want it? 4951

@MTechnique: I can't make a gun that will have a push button to eliminate all liberal democrats, so I'll just buy the stock gun.

Yep the SIG SAUER SIGM400 5.56x45mm NATO Enhanced Semiautomatic Carbine is really a sweet rifle.I noticed in the latest Carter Country ad they have a great deal on a Sig Sauer P938 for 638.00.  It includes a laser sight, two magazines (7 round I think) and a holster.  The P938 is a small 9mm and the regular price at CC is about 750.00 for the model without the laser, the extra mag and holster.  If you are looking for a small concealed carry unit, this may be a good one to consider.  Another nice thing, it looks like a small 1911:&gtEmoticon 4951

JaxUnfortunately gun shows no longer show the good deals they once had. I got first hand information that before the show begins the promoter gets with all the dealers and set the price of their products. I also hate the fact that many of the ammo dealers are now gouging us consumers. I am sticking with online for now until SAxet, High Caliber, and all the others clean up their act. 4951

@CBP210:  I agree.  Unless someone like Carter Country or Academy puts a firearm on sale, your best bet is to search the internet.  There are several FFL holders locally that you can have it shipped to and for a small fee (usually $20-30/gun), they will have you fill out the forms and run the background check before you can take possession. It's also been years since I bought ammo from a store.  I buy everything over the internet now.
