So we finally tried Lucille's Fresh Catch Kitchen last night.  We had take out because our son was sleeping but it is really nice on the inside.  My wife and I both got the Shrimp dinner and it was very good.  They certainly did not skimp on the number of shrimp or the fries either.  I really like their beer battered fries.  We will definitely be returning in the future....if you haven't check Lucille's out yet definitely do so! 4951

We love it, but we've only tried it for dinner.  I hope to make it there soon for lunch the next time I have some vacation days.

I was a bit concerned when we drove by Saturday night, at prime dinner hour, and there were only a few cars there.  I am hopeful they will soon build a thriving business, but I'm also afraid the previous mis-managed businesses in that space before them might be tainting their reputation.  I've heard several people ask if it is the same owner as F2M and Fish Tales.  In fact, I even asked myself when they first opened.  I just hope this completely separate business can find it's own fan base and overcome the stigma of the previous tennants and the curse of the location.

I would love to see them get more aggressive with their marketing.  GC's and ads here on KDC are a good start, but I would love to see more, like ads, flyers, sponsorships, coupons in Val-Pak, etc..  I know that is pricey, but they really need to positively distinguish themselves from the recent Emoticonast.  They have great management from what I have seen so far, and great food and customer service.  They just need to be loud and proud and let everyone know they are here to stay. 4951

When I called for the luncheon reservation, I believe they mentioned working on the bar area.  Hopefully they can soon start to serve more than just beer and wine.  That private room would be a great place for a happy hour or dinner meet up, but there are some that would want cocktails, like myself, so I haven't mentioned it before now.  4951

Their business is skimpy because they started out being skimpy with the food and just put a few tiny shrimp on a pile of fries. Same with their other meals. Fries, fries and MORE fries! Too many other established eating places to choose from that give a good meal for the money. Businesses need to learn that "first impressions do matter". 4951

@doddlebug:
I've never had the fries. They actually offer menu items that aren't deep fried and full of fat although you probably need as much grease in your diet as possible because you seem to be permanently constipated.

I've never had a skimpy meal there. We have always had fabulous service, delicious, top-quality seafood, fresh veggies, mouth-watering soups and perfect portion sizes.  If you want quantity, go to Long John Silver's. For quality, go to Lucille's! YUM YUM YUM!!! 4951

@doddlebug:
I'm not sure what you are talking about.  The portions there are huge and we walked away more than happy and full.  DH raved about the gumbo and the shrimp and crab au gratin appetizer, as well as what I had, since he had to help me finish it.  Maybe the issue is portion expectations. One man's skimpy plate is another man's huge portion.

I've read your posts, several times before, about the skimpy shrimp from your first visit, but have you gone back to see if it has improved and perhaps now meets your expections, especially in light of the rave reviews and contrary comments on the portions? It hardly seems fair to continue to judge and continue to negatively comment if you've only visited once.  Most everyone agrees that it's hard to judge a place based on their first week in business.  Maybe give them another try, you might be plesantly surprised.  4951

I'll have to give them a try since I love seafood and they're right down the street from me. Hopefully I will have a good experience or I will not be going back. A few weeks ago I had to call Pappadeaux out on their dinner seafood platter plate, they served me the lunch portion and thought I wouldn't know the difference- NEWS FLASH, I DID! The manager took care of it immediately! I love to give a small business a try, sometimes they have better customer service than the chain ones. 4951

Trying them right now for lunch. I got the lunch portion fried shrimp. Came with 7-8 medium size shrimp and a pile of fries! Food pretty good so far. Tartar sauce is so so. A little to thick for my liking and needs more seasoning.

Overall, I would come back and try other stuff.

I'm definitely the youngest one in here by twenty years and I'm 35. Lol. No disrespect, just something I noticed. I was looking around for a Wednesday senior discount. Emoticon 4951

I wish they had something "fun" like fish tacos or shrimp quesadillas. 4951

Well they do catfish so I'm sure if you asked, they might consider making them. They are also very open to recommendations so if enough people request it, they might also add to the menu, since the fish and slaw are already in stock.  They just need a good spicy sauce and corn tortillas, which are both pretty easy adds.  4951

Does anyone remember the username of the owner that posted a little about the place? I thought it was "catfish1" but I son think that's it. I went back to look at old posts and couldn't find it. I wanted to tag her here with the fish taco suggestions. 4951
