The deadly ebola virus could be turning from an isolated incident to something on the verge of an outbreak, as there are now reports that the Centers for Disease Control is investigating a vomiting passenger in a New Jersey airport.Fox 5 reporter Lisa Evers tweeted on Saturday that a United Airlines flight out of Europe had been halted at the gate in Newark, New Jersey, due to a sick passenger on board. It is unclear as yet whether the passenger has ebola, but Evers reports that the passenger was vomiting and that the flight has been held in quarantine.So is it true, or just more news sensationalism?I mean, why do they have barf bags on airplanes? Must be an issue of people barfing if they supply those, no? 4951

I've been reading the paper from NJ since this happened & after the initial story, nothing else was said.  I'm thinking they just overreacted. 4951

FOX...  that kind of says it all.  Every time someone sneezes near an airport or airplane they seem to be shouting EBOLA.  Makes me no want to even fly to Florida in two weeks. 4951

All media is sensationalizing ebola.  Yes, it's something to be concerned about, but causing people to panic and over-react is not helping.   4951

All media

@Retired_Engineer: "All American media"
...there, I fixed that for you.  International news organizations have mostly shown a steady hand with the BBC in particular sort of saying "meh",  4951

There must be some issue, since "don't panic" Obama sent 5000 soldiers to Africa, put together a military Ebola task force, appointed a third administrator to handle Ebola (added to Director of CDC and the office in HHS), and is spending millions to combat Ebola.Oh, sorry, it's don't panic just because a few Ebola carriers were walking the streets of America or flying commercial flights.We can take extreme action to fight Ebola in Africa.  But if we utter a peep about Ebola in America we're wild eyed nuts.You know that there is no way to restrict people from flying into America from Ebola infected areas.  Obama said so, before he restricted people from flying into America from Ebola infected areas to five U.S. airports.Don't panic is aka don't blame Obama for botching the response to Ebola. 4951

Just because someone is throwing up doesn't mean they have Ebola.  Good grief, people need to calm down.  Further, screening passengers for a temperature is stupid.  Not everyone who has Ebola has a fever and not everyone with a fever has Ebola.  Perfect example, when I fly, I tend to get very warm and nauseous during the landing.  I am fine during take off and throughout the flight, just something about the landing procedure that makes me feel icky.  I am sure when I get off the plane, my temperature is up a bit, if nothing else my cheeks are flushed.  That does not mean I have a commutable disease.  It also doesn't mean that some stranger has the right to probe me, take my temperature, or isolate me.  People are freaking out for no reason.  It's all well and good to ban travel, medically check people, etc. until it happens to them or until it is taken to the next level.  You give the government/TSA an inch and they will take over the world. 4951

After that whole Atascocita Ebola bs. I wrote a letter to the editor of channel 2 about how irresponsible reporting a fake Ebola scares was and why. No response. 4951
