Have you heard? 103.7 is now Air 1????   Christian Alternative???

Ok,, I believe Houston is really losing the reality of music. I have lived here for over 9 years and have seen some of the best music stations change from their format to other horrible formats,,, and this takes the cake... first it started with Rock 101 (101.1 fm),,, that went Cumbia Mexican,,,, and slowly but surely the music has died. Then in time other radio stations moved and changed formats.... recently we can here the same music on 106.1 and 107.5 because one is a stronger repeater...

I have traveled all over the country and other cities have WAY MORE BETTER stations than Houston does. Even Oklahoma City has better music.

what are they thinking....  I am all for having Christian Music,,, but have you heard what they play? I want to break the radio!... its that love feely cum-bi-ya music,,,,, ugh,,, its sickening....

WE NEED BIG DOG 106.1 FROM BEAUMONT TO PUSH THIS WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was a KLOL listener for many, many years until they changed.
I have been listening to 103 for awhile now, and loving it, but then they changed.
106.9 is left?

Even tho I NEVER considered they were planning to implode, I often wondered, and laughed, at why that boob reduction commercial was about the only one??!! That and the commercial for anlylosing spondylitis was their main advertisers. Then toward the end, one for Disney cruises out of Galveston. Sheesh, I should have known. That was by far the best station around...sad. I'm listening to The Mix now, 96.5, although it plays too much top 40 for my taste, I hear stuff on there from 103 and it keeps me hangin' on. They have too many over played songs on their rotation...Call Me Maybe is a cute song, but please, no more..and Somebody I Use To Know, stop now.
I think I'll have to become a channel surfer. I do miss the classic rock, but those channels play nothing but that and no new stuff...

Don't see that they are loosing the reality of much.  They don't do these changes without a lot of research.  So they did their study and found there was a pretty big market for this here in Houston.

I am surprised at how many people actually listen to the radio.   The commercials make me batty.  I'd rather burn a cd of my favorite songs.

I got a new radio a couple years ago with the direct hook up for my ipod, and I am driving a 1996 Bronco.  I figured if I finally got into this century everyone else was already here

Really surprised at so many regular radio listeners.

@Fallon: I like the variety. While making CD's is ok, I don't want to hear the same 15 songs over and over..I also have developed some weird aversion to collecting ANYTHING. Don't want to anymore, even good books or music...

I have several play lists I put on from my ipod.  I find this to be way easier than the cd's too.

And once I am done listening to them, I admit I chunk them.  lol   I can't stand clutter either.  So if I am not using something, and haven't used it lately, I get rid of it.

@Fallon:

Hubby did the same in both his 98 sun fire and 89 mustang. He loves listening to his iPod/iPhone lol

It was easy to do, and it is so nice to not listen to the radio.  Never realized how some of the morning shows are not meant for kids.  So I usually have a cd with what they like for on the way to and from school, and then I can listen to my ipod when I am out running errands.

Why do they call it "Christian Alternative" instead of Christian?

Is it Satanic, or atheist - those are alternatives to Christian.  Christian is not an alternative to Christian.
