we took down the outside decorations  yesterday & today we took down the tree & the inside decorations. Hubby put a floor down in the attic so we could store all the xmas decorations up there & that would free up the storage closet in the basement for other things . We had really warm weather for several days , that's why we took down the outside  decorations . It dropped to 21 degrees this evening so we have the fireplace going & we are toasty warm . We had a few days where our pool had about 2 inches of ice in several places it was in the single digits , so we are expecting more cold weather to come our way before  too long. We had a super nice holiday & everything went smooth for a change. Hope everyone in Kingwood had a great holiday & hope you all have a safe & happy New Year . 4951

We took ours down yesterday & finished today. A part of me died inside as I did it. I miss Christmas already! DH & I are now watching The Grinch for the 428th time this month, mourning the passing of Christmas, lol. 4951

I am DREADING this!! Lugging our 5 big, heavy rubbermaids up the stairs then into the attic is on tomorrow's to-do list. It's the only part of Christmas I dislike, lol. 4951

@Heathur: LOL my computer room is FULL of boxes now.  I have a huge one with all my "christmas crafts to do" then about 6 smaller ones, not to mention the tree.  Then there is all the outside stuff that doesn't fit in boxes/crates!  Just happy I have 2 strong sons to help me Emoticon

We were done on Friday with everything.  Inside and out.  Our tree was at the curb and they picked it up on Saturday.Just was never in the spirit much this year.  I hope next year is a bit better.@Zephard, I usually leave my tree up for the Epiphany, but this year I was ready to be done.Going to clean the house from top to bottom tomorrow to be ready for the New Year.  I like to start things off with a clean house, all small repairs done, and my laundry caught upEmoticon

@Fallon: That sounds like a dream!!!  (:

I don't see our tree & decorations coming down till next Saturday, the 4th. DH isn't allowed to take the ornaments off without me.  I put them back in the original boxes & all, where he would just throw them in the plastic container & I have a system to where everything is put away in the closet.  On wed I have other chores I would like to get done. And right now our tree is still doing good for a real tree. We got it on the 13 of Dec. So just a little over 2 weeks ago. 4951

Nothing comes down until I get that nice little letter from the association. They are so nice to remind me that Christmas time is over. So that should be sometime in early March. 4951
