Besides the Mall? I know we onlyhave one weekend left, but i really dread taking 3 kids to the Mall on the last weekend before Christmas. Or, can anyone recommend a good time to go if this is my only option? I might be able to swing taking them Friday afternoon, as the oldest has a half day. But I also don't want to shell out $$$$ for a photo and the chance for the kids to tell Santa what they want. 4951

Jonathon Blakelock (local businessman) and his family host a hayride every year and Santa is there each night.  In the past it's been at the Riverchase pool but this year it has moved to the Kings Point pool (5855 Hidden Lakes Drive).  It will be held this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights from 5:00pm until people stop showing up...usually around 9:00pm.  Last year we had about 1000 riders.  The hayride is free, as are the cookies, hot cocoa, and visit with Santa.  Jonathon does pick a charity to support each year as folks tend to want to give.  This year he's chosen to support the Luna family.  If you're not familiar with them, Tricia is a teacher at Creekwood and her husband Patrick recently lost his battle with cancer.  There is no obligation and certainly no pressure to participate. 4951

On the Park in Kingwood on Saturday and Sunday. We got there right before noon on Sunday and we're #3 in line. Great Santa! They charge $10, and then take pictures with an IPad. They email you the pictures. 4951

I know it is far but I was at the Methodist Hospital yesterday and in the lobby they had a Santa Claus there. He was not busy and no photographers so no fee! There was a pianist playing there. It wa very nice! Santa was looking for people because he even waved to me and motioned for me to come over. 4951

After seeing the pictures posted of the Santa at DB Mall and The Woodlands Mall, I think we'll be taking our kids to the thing @shodan66 mentioned. If we can't make that, we'll go to On The Park. We were actually there the other day and their Santa is ok, I guess. I thought the mall Santa's would be better....I was sadly mistaken. Hopefully they'll let us take our own pictures with our camera. I'd like a better quality picture than what an iPad can take. 4951

@A2H2: There isn't a photographer at the hayride.  It's strictly roll-your-own.
Since this is a different location than in the past, I'm not sure what the backdrop or anything will be.  Might be perfect, might be a no-go.  Either way it's Santa Claus and a hay ride...how can you go wrong?  LOL 4951
