Michael just told me he has my gift narrowed down to 1 of 2 things and I could decide if I want...he is traditionally NOT very good gift picker(I got a mosquito lantern once) should I decide or let him mess it up? 4951

How important are suprises to you?  I personally kinda of like to know.  If i let DH pick and i hate it, I can't hide that "WTF" expression from my face.  Then he is sad. Where as if i know i will like it there isn't that akward gift giving experience and everyone is happy. 4951

@BooBear: tell him to get both and then take back the one you dont want

@mm4731: but both are expensive(or better be, he got new golf clubs) Its one or the other.

@Boobear,
maybe it's a spa weekend and you can take a group of 'girlfriends' !  That would be great!

I think in your situation I would want to know since he gives crappy gifts unintentionally!  Why doesn't  he take you shopping and let you pick out your gift?  My dh did that with me today!  It was actually fun and he was a great sport about it!  This way you get what you like! 4951

We have been married 45 years!!!!   And dh never has gotten me exactly what I wanted or needed.  but he has never known that I didn't 'love' his gift.  He has to figure it out by himself, sometimes from a list, and sometimes not.  But he takes the time to think about it and do the shopping and wrapping and so I really to appreciate whatever it is.  4951
