It's just a little irritating spending $30 on nice cards & then another $20 on postage, only to get a handful back in return. When it comes to gifts, I am ALL about giving rather than receiving, but cards are just kind of more trouble than their worth these days. We sent some to Holiday Mail for Heroes but other than that & our next door neighbor, we're just sending them to the people who send them to us. Tacky but whatevs, lol.
@Heathur: Don't worry about being that way because the first year you forget you will be off their list. The first year we stopped we got about ten cards but the next only 3 and now I think we get a straggler card occasionally. Some people still enjoy doing it but for most they do it out of obligation so if you don't like doing it then don't because the cost is ridiculous for it to end up in the trash the day after Christmas (if they keep it that long). If you haven't sent out your cards yet send them saying this will be the last year so you have more time to enjoy baking, or whatever you want to say. Then list your email, Facebook, Twitter etc..
