There is usually a "hold" function on digital ones, I just press the HOLD and then set the temp. 4951

What kind is it? I have been wanting to try the "Nest". I like cool new tech stuff, but I always want to know how well it works before I invest in it.  4951

I have had the Nest learning thermostat for about a year now and absolutely love it! It learns the temps you like, you can change temps via your phone or iPad, and it does so much more. It knows when your away and then sets thermostat to a predefined away temperature range mode. When the ac is running it shuts the compressor off early and just runs the blower to utilize the coldness left on the coil! It looks awesome, the guy who invented the click wheel on the first iPod is the inventor of the Nest. You get a monthly energy report via e-mail on your heating/cooling useage and you earn little leafs for conserving energy. Our electric bill has definitely improved by 20% in the Summer and even more in the Winter by not running our HVAC when we are not home. I have converted several of my friends and I have installed Nests for two of my friends who now also love their no fuss, intuitive, high-tech thermostats! 4951

@Haybugg: Would seem to defeat the hold function. I had one that was like that. There are actually two hold functions. One to hold until the next program change, and one that was called vacation hold, that kept it at that temp until you changed it (more like a true hold function).

I have one of those too that can be difficult to set/change, I haven't touched it since they put it in. I would like to change/adjust mines too but afraind I might screw something up so I just deal with it... Emoticon I need to at least set the time to be correct though, it sure would help since I have it set based on time and temperature. Emoticon 4951
