A reasonable person may expect a Starbucks gift card with $400 on it to sell for, well, $400, perhaps even a bit less. However, when it comes to limited edition Starbucks cards, conventional thinking doesn't always apply.Currently up for auction on eBay is a Limited Edition Starbucks 2013 Rose Metal Gold Card with $400 on it. According to the auction's description, only 1,000 of the cards were produced.Want to own it? It'll cost you a lot more than a decaf latte. As of press time, the high bid was $1,675 with a little more than 20 hours to go before the gavel bangs. 4951
Gotta love those auctions!!! ha ha   Actually when a franchise is as big as Starbucks and they issue something that is limited in quantity that item will likely increase in value.. I would use the 400.00 but keep the card as a collectors item..... Frame it or something..... -  Spoken like a auctioneers wife!!! 4951
That is bananas! I rarely drink coffee but when I do, I'll stick to the stuff from the gas station. It's every bit as good as starbucks at a fraction of the price. 4951
I refuse to go to Starbucks, so if it was up to me, they would be out of business! I don't drink coffee except for a cup in the morning. The only thing I like at Sonic is the Java Chillers & they are about 1/2 the price of Starbucks & they have ice cream in them. 4951
I don't drink coffee EVER and have never been to Starbucks..  My kids meet there to study sometimes..... I have always refused to give him money buy amything there because it is so high and addictive it seems. 4951
I only buy from Starbucks when there is no other choice. Â And I only buy small, medium, or large COFFEE. Â I don't play their word games and I just want a coffee. As for that limited addition card...... there's a sucker born every day. 4951
Starbucks is a treat to myself. But this is crazy to read! I'm off to search the (empty) gift card I have that is pretty Fall colors and has Braille on it. I wonder if it's a "limited" edition one?! Also, I thought it was against the law for gift card balances to expire. I believe the company can start deducting a user fee after a year, but gift cards are considered cash. I remember this being an argument up in PA and the law changed (not sure if it was statewide or countrywide, though). 4951
I always tell them i want a small coffee flavored coffee with cream and two splendas at the drive through, but only when i'm driving out of town. Dunkin' Donuts and McDonald has better coffee than Starbucks. 4951
The word games are crazy. I don't drink coffee anymore but stop in for a passion tea, chai latte or green tea latte once per week as a treat on Mother's Day out days.
