I have decided this year to entirely change my Christmas lighting for my house. I felt like going a bit more classic this year with the basic white lights instead of my usual full color and inflatables.  So I've been flipping around online looking at different displays and I've run across a lot of Christmas tree ornaments. That got me to wondering just how much people spend on their Christmas tree ornaments.  I've seen some for as much as $35 for one ornament.  If you had just 10 ornaments on your entire tree you'd have $350 on ornaments at that price.  ...plus tax  How much do you spend on your Christmas tree ornaments? 4951

I buy a few ornaments every year, but I don't spend close to $35 for an ornament. I buy alot of lenox & spode ornaments that you can get for $10 or less at Marshall's, Ross Steinmart. Any time I come across one I like & it's in my price range I pick it up. 4951

I'm cheap Emoticon This year is the first year we've ever had a real tree and really went all out. Even with sales we spent $150 on ornaments and lights for the tree. 4951

Might make you feel better about spending to much on an ornament.  At least nobody is THIS crazy.http://www.ebay.com/itm/HAROLD-LLOYD-8P-OF-EUROPEAN-LARGE-CHRISTMAS-TREE-ORNAMENTS-/150737098830?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2318a1984ehttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Christian-Christmas-Ornament-23k-Pure-Gold-Frankincense-Myrrh-Lot-of-1000-/251309781506?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a833af202http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-German-Dresden-Christmas-Ornament-Elephant-head-candy-container-/111222564400?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19e561a630 4951

I also found this.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Christmas-Ornament-/141126494317?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20dbcb686d   BTW, I too will be offering a Christmas Tree ornament for $3000. It closely resembles a pine cone that was sitting in my front yard.  ...coincidence.   The money will go to help a family of 1 (plus a dog). 4951

I thought it would be fun to buy cheap ornaments and decorate them with the kids on Thanksgiving. Maybe pick a different style or design each year.  It would give the kids something to do as well as give them a fun little memory.  I used to buy cheap rockets and shoot them off every year with the kids. I don't do that anymore so I thought this might be a fun replacement. 4951

All my ornaments have to match, so every 2 years or so I will buy a set. Right now I have silver wire ones and multi lights. They were maybe 30 bucks or so for all. I'm too frugal to spend big bucks on something like that. 4951

I do buy a few really nice ones every so often.  And I have easily spent $35 on an ornament.I got several in NO, pre Katrina, and they don't make them anymore.  So I am glad I got them when I did.Starting out, I got ornaments at Michaels for a $1 or less and painted them.  I have several I picked up in other countries.  I like to get an ornament at the places we go throughout the year.  It is fun when we are decorating to remember our trips.

Hey if that hubby of yours ever goes over to Austria or Germany I totally need some ornaments from over there!!! 4951

My BIL and sister like the Hallmark ornaments that can be upward of 50.00 each.  They always ask for one at Christmas and I can honestly say, those are the only ornaments I buy.  Needless to say, they usually only get that one ornament at a present. 4951
