I have no trouble believing dogs can be trained to do that and do it well, but I'm not sure about them being " distressed" about not finding live people. Think about it. How often do they really find anyone?? Are they always distressed if nothing happens, which must be
frequently? Have they somehow been taught that if they don't find anything they have failed?

Animals do have emotions but they do not process them like people do.

Many people think cats pee on stuff to get even for something. It is not that way with them. It's usually a sign that they are distressed about changes in their environment or life. They can also have urinary issues as well. And some might be nuts. But as far as revenge like people think? No.

I think animals have great bonding capabilities for love and other things but they aren't the same as humans with more complex and rational type thinking. 4951

My mom once said something like, you talk to your dog like she understands you. Damn right I do and she does! My mom never really had pets growing up and I wouldn't consider her a pet lover. Maybe it had something with her growing up on a farm, I don't know. She did let us have several different kinds of pets when we were growing up and for that I'm very thankful.

Animals are pretty smart and feel a wide range of emotion. 4951
