"Just before 1 a.m, Porter Fire Department was dispatched to a single
vehicle accident in the 1700 block of North Park Drive between Russell
Palmer and Loop 494. When they arrived they found a yet unidentified
teen who was east bound on North Park in a Ford escape,  hit the left
curb and then entered the tree line striking a large pine with the
drivers door.
Fire crews worked to free the trapped driver. He was then transported to Hermann Hospital in Houston in critical condition.
DPS is continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash."Full article here: montgomerycountypoli cereporter.com/teen- critical-after-kingw ood-crash/ 4951

I think that's the same intersection where we saw an overturned SUV and the small patch of pine trees on fire a couple of months ago.  What's is going on with all of the crazy accidents on North Park near Russell Palmer?  4951

I think saying prob drunk is really f'd up. That part of NP has always been slick and there are always accidents. Kid could have been coming from anywhere. 4951

I live in kings mill and can't tell you how many times I've slid in my truck on that road!! I don't know what it is but it's slippery as soon as it rains. There's always at least one accident everytime it rains. I'm wondering if maybe it could have been icy. It was 38 degrees when I woke up this morning I can only imagine what the temp was at 1am. 4951

@mpjp0907: I concur, I slipped and slid my entire drive in this morning. I am normally a fast driver but this morning I let the others have it and I got waaaaaaaaaay out of their way too!!!! 4951

I've also heard others say it's unusually slick in that area when wet.  Wonder why?  4951

It was raining off and on the day we saw the overturned SUV.  Maybe they will come in and add something to the road to decrease the slippery surface.

@Wooderson: npark is the worst when the roads are slick.....my son travels it to & from work at Showbiz so i worry a lot.....1 of my employees totalled out 1 of my trucks around those trees at russel palmer & npark.....you can pretty much spin your wheels from 494 to russel palmer if you wanted....

They need to regrade that part of the road.

There are accidents there every time it rains.  And cars turn over there often.

Many prayers going out to the person hurt and their family.
@Fallon: Or have the street workers to put sand down. 4951
