Just an fyi - my daughter posted her resume on kingwood.com and a person responded to her resume and was able to convince her to deposit a check into her account and send him western union money orders that equaled almost $4,000.  Naturally, the check she deposited was not good and unfortunately Chase accepted the check and then she followed his orders before she found out the check was fraudulent.   So basically, please beware of employment scams - she now owes Chase bank $4000 and as a college student has no way of paying it back so this is a bad situation (plus she is getting married in 10 days).  This is the only place she posted her resume so know that the criminals out there are perusing the website for victims.  4951

How old is your daughter? Why would you deposit a check for anyone and then wire them the money. That is a known scam. 4951

I'm confused, the person who contacted her convinced her to deposit money with the intent of giving her a job - are we now paying to work instead of getting paid? 4951

I don't think its a robbery if you give them the money

@mm4731: it is fraud, but still! This is the oldest scam out there.

Any "job" that requires an employee to make deposits from their account to the company's account is a scam!

I have no sympathy for stupidity. Don't try to make KDC look bad because of your daughter's lack of sense. 4951

They dont teach these things in school and just about anyone can be scammed no matter how smart they are, some scam artist are very good at being criminals. Our young are more vulnerable to it than our elderly. I think the posters intent was to warn us that someone is running a scam on the boards...thanks for the heads up.

@KTownTexican: doesn't it feel weird to have to give people advice about this?
I have said it before: common sense is getting to be less and less common!
