yesterday started off okay , but by 11 am it was starting to get bad , windy & bouts of rain , but not really that bad till  3pm , then the sirens started going off & the winds started to increase from 50 mph to 70 mph by 6pm , At times the rain came down so hard that it sounded like horses running across the roof . All the furniture on our patio was pushed from one side to the other by the wind & some turned over . Our grill was pushed clear to the other side of the patio & lodged between the peach tree & cement bench . But at least nothing made  it into the pool (LOL) . Our patio is 30 X 32  to give you an idea of just how far the wind pushed the heavy furniture . Other areas  had trees falling on their homes or down across their streets . The police & emergency workers were out in full  force most of the night.  Then as quickly as it came it was gone  by 7 pm . Today the sun is shining & the sky is a beautiful blue . Mother Nature has shown us her nasty side & then today her beautiful side. Hope the foul weather we had does not find it's way to Texas . 4951

@WJo, you endured this all by yourself, you weren’t afraid? How were the dogs behaving??? This Kentucky weather is something else….. So what are you doing this morning? 4951

@Bubbleyes72....thank you for asking ....the dogs ( 3 poodles) were really very good they stayed close to us ( hubby & I ) but they barked like crazy when they heard the rain on the roof . it sounded like horses running across . Hubby said it almost sounded like a plane coming in for a landing . I was not alone or I might have been afraid , hubby was here till he left at 3 am to go to the airport to catch his flight out for Houston , he will be there for 2 weeks this time , but home for the week-end (Hooray ). It was all cleared out by 7pm that evening so when hubby left  it had all passed already .If it had been snow instead of rain we would have over a foot of snow , so we were very lucky that it was rain  or we would have been shoveling the driveway at  1am. Got to love the quick change in the weather in Ky. 4951

@pksbr...thanks , the only thing we had was lots of tree branches in our yard & our patio furniture being re-arranged by the wind. So we were very lucky.....thanks again for thinking of us. 4951

@WJo: Sounds exciting, scary and a lot of work all at the same time, I'll pass on weather like that.... Boring works just fine for me here in Texas! Glad to know he was home with you and the poodles. So you never travel along with him from time to time? 4951

@Bubbleyeys72...travel with hubby ? Sometimes if it is going to be a short trip , but  getting someone to watch the poodles in our home is really expensive , but leaving them in PetSuites is also expensive , for 3 poodles it runs about $130.00 a day for the suite for 3 . We will not leave them in a cage , so I just stay home with them if hubby is going to be gone  a day or 2 or a week or 2 . Besides I know the kind of care I give them & with someone else you never know . When we lived in Kingwood I thought we had a good pet sitter that came to our home , however when we came home early I found she was doing her laundry at  our home   , when I asked her she got really nasty , so that ended that . When we go on vacation & we are gone for 8 days  it cost us about $1100. because we get them doggie ice cream at night & they are groomed before we pick them up .People say we spoil our dogs , to us they are our 4 legged children & we treat them that way . I would not put my children in a cage & stay gone for a week , it would break my heart & I'm sure it would depress our poodles since they have never been in a cage since we adopted them . We have had 2 of them for 12 years & 1 for 6 years , so we are all they know & we want only the best for them . However now since we live at home we have several relatives that have asked us if they can watch our poodles if & when we decide to go somewhere . So maybe things will change in the future , one can never tell..... 4951
