We went to Goings BBQ (at Lake Hou P'way and Upper Lake) today for the first time to try them out.  The sliced BBQ turkey was absolutely perfect - tender and full of flavor.  Two of us had the "dinners" with sausage and beef and all the meats were flavorful and tender and the sides were great too.  We will definitely go back - prices are reasonable and ambience is casual - oh yea, and they have homemade jalapeno bread that just melts in your mouth!  Great new restaurant that needs to make it here in K'wood - don't have many BBQ places here in Kingwood proper - I hope they make it - 4951

Interesting, My wife was in the mode for BBQ, so I went up there and got a couple to-go orders.Pork Rib dinner and a half rack of baby back ribs.My mixed veggies were pretty good, the cole slaw creamy like I like it.My wife had fried okra, which I tasted, and was good, she had potato salad which she said was good also.We both liked our ribs, but both of said they were a tad dry. Now I can't say for sure that because of the 8 mile or so drive back to the front of Kingwood, or what. I also ordered a basket of onion rings, which were good, but we don't think were "fresh", or made in house. Definitely not the old Luthers thick cut beer battered onion rings of old.$28 for that. Might have to try more before making up our minds either way. 4951

Went to Goings after driving past it for about 4 months.  Was suprised how nice it was inside.  My wife and I both ordered the 1/2 rack of baby back ribs and they were VERY good.  The sauce was excellent.  I got the mixed veggies and pinto beans for the sides and like 'em both.  They have a large selection of sides and also serve ribeye steaks, sausage, brisket, turkey.  Definately recommend it to all BBQ lovers.  Check it out, I think you will be pleased. 4951

Didn't know anything about another BBQ joint coming to KW.  Do you know the name or where exactly it is going to be located? 4951

I like chopped beef sandwiches and like the ones at Goings. Their grilled vegs are good too. 4951

@magnoliamam: My wife and I tried Goings BBQ last night for our first visit.  I have to say that they have become our new favorite BBQ Restaurant.  I had the Brisket dinner and it was awesome, they aren't shy about giving you a good portion of meat, it was cooked perfectly with great flavor and their BBQ Sauce was great.  For my sides I had the Mac & Cheese and Baked Beans and both were delicious as well.  My wife had the Chopped Beef Sandwich and loved it and she's not a huge fan of BBQ.  For a side she had the Mustard Potato Salad and thought it was great.  The prices are very fair, service was excellent.

If you haven't given this place a shot I definitely suggest checking them out, as you know it's hard for mom & pop restaurants to compete against the big chains and in my opinion, Goings is as good or better. 4951

Is their sauce on the sweet side, or the sour side? 4951

@WskyTngoFxtrt:
A touch of sweetness...not overpowering like some places. 4951

The BBQ place going up on Kingwood Dr. is Dickey's BBQ Pit. I think it's a chain, though, and chain-store BBQ tends to be mundane. 4951

@thegoodwife: I haven't tried Dickey's.  Another good place to try if you are up for a drive is Dukes BBQ in Cleveland.  They have won some awards.  It's just a small place with a few seats but it's really good.
