So at the new Kroger we (my daughter was in from Austin and needed me to "buy" some stuff for her) were checking out. The bagger guy (young kid) picks up our dozen of eggs, it flips open and over and 11 eggs fall out on the bagger surface there. He looks at them, picks them up and looks at us, and says (I kid you not) "Do you want another one?"It was like everything I could do to from going DUH, idiot!So he puts the broken carton in a bag, then looks at us and asks (I kid you not again) "Do you want to go get them?"My daughter looks at him and says "You broke them, you go get them., we got the first one."Lets not go into how long it took him to get them and how backed up this checker line became.It was funny after the fact, but really.Just glad I didn't any change, that could have taken forever. Baggers make me nuts.  I place my items in the order I want them bagged.  Heavy items first, then I can set the lighter items on top of them.Yesterday the girl put my bananas in with a 1/2 gallon of milk.  Why would you do that?

@Fallon:
You don't care. Young people don't think about stuff like that. They need to be trained. I thought they did that. Guess not. Emoticon

My fave is putting heavy stuff in with the bread so it gets smashed. 4951

Couple years ago HEB at the absolutely best bagger I have ever seen, ever.She was quick, packed everything perfectly, I never had an issue with her.It got so I would look for her in the checkout lines and go to that checkout.Guess she graduated HS and moved on in life.If she keeps that up, she will do good in life.She had an odd spelled name like Robi or something like that.You know she must of been good to for me to actually remember this long, specially at my age. 4951

It's not just the kids.  I was in Walmart the other day and an older lady was doing the same thing.  I'm just like.....WOW!  chips in with cans. Bananas in with heavy cold stuff.  Crazy! 4951

Kroger was my first job.  And they actually send you to training (checker school/bagger school) but I don't know if they still do that.  I hate when they put non food items with food items.  Dish soap with food, cleaning supplies with food.  That irks me so bad.  I usually with start bagging my groceries and then someone comes to help.  So I hand the items I want kept together in order.  4951

it happens every where ...I was going through line at Meijers & my bag of sugar  caught a piece of the flap on the bag under the belt at the end of the line & when the kid picked up the bag of sugar  5 lbs. of sugar went all over the belt & floor . He looks at me & says do you want to go get another one ? DUH ! I look at him & tell him I"M the paying customer you go get another bag while I pay for the groceries or you can pay for my groceries while I do your job ......he said that sounds like a deal , I'll go get your sugar .....guess it slipped his mind who was  paying for the groceries (LMAO). 4951
