I have a couple lamb shanks I got the new Kroger I am going to do in mine.I don't see an advantage to an electric, other than I would guess it is harder to clean.
@FoFa:Â I suspect an electric one would have better heat/temperature control, but the vent controls the pressure and temperature in a pressure cooker. Â I agree about the cleaning. We have not replaced some of our electric cooking devices because they were a pain to clean.I also like the type of pressure cooker Alton Brown recommended..... just haven't bought one yet.
