I have been using mine lately. Recently made pork chops with carrots and potatoes and beef tips. Both made a fantastic gravy.
Anyone else use a pressure cooker? I have an electric one. 4951

I used to have one of those Turbo Cookers (pressure cooker) but it got lost when I moved into my current house. It worked great.  4951

I don't have one but considered buying an electric one.   I'd love to hear what others cook in theirs.  4951

@N+T: Pressure cookers are great, but we don't use ours often enough.  They shorten cooking times and reduce energy usage.@WskyTngoFxtrt:  I don't think that's a pressure cooker.

I had an old one that I was afraid to use because I had one explode on me once before. So while watching HSN I saw an electric one & ordered it  8 years ago . I love it ! Would never go back to the old kind.  I cook everything in my electric one . I just ordered a new one from HSN & I'm waiting for it to be delivered . This one I ordered in red ! You can put frozen meat into the non-stick pot & in one hour it is done perfect . I like to take chicken & cook it for an hour then  I take it & pull the chicken apart into bite size pieces & pour Alfredo sauce over it & top it off with egg noodles ...excellent meal .....another good meal is to take a pot roast & set it for 60 minutes , when it's done pull the meat apart & add a bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce ...yummy !  I do not think I could as often as I do without my electric pressure cooker . I also ordered the electric pressure cooker cook book ......it has some really good ideas in it .... 4951

Dried beans cook in about 1/4 the time.  A cheap/tough cut of meat will be fork tender. 4951

I have this in a 5 Qt.Perfect for us in size.I love it so far.I made braised beef ribs in 20 minutes last week, they were really good.It makes the best brown rice, Quina, beans and chicken gizzards come out so tender, in 15 minutes. Not to mention other "normal" things.I bought this one because Alton Brown recommended it. The design will not allow you to open it if there is any pressure left in it.Plus it is not as loud as some of the others. 4951

I have a very old one I use sometimes. I replaced the seal on it but I really like it as a heavy pot.  Share those recipes.....     My beans didn't come out as creamy as I like. 4951

I love my electric.  It is wonderful to precook briskets and then smoke them. 4951

@mogopups:  I prefer my beans whole with some "juice".  To get them creamy, cook until very tender and then mash them.

I have a couple lamb shanks I got the new Kroger I am going to do in mine.I don't see an advantage to an electric, other than I would guess it is harder to clean. 4951

@FoFa:  I suspect an electric one would have better heat/temperature control, but the vent controls the pressure and temperature in a pressure cooker.   I agree about the cleaning. We have not replaced some of our electric cooking devices because they were a pain to clean.I also like the type of pressure cooker Alton Brown recommended..... just haven't bought one yet.

You pretty much put it on high heat to get whatever liquid hot, then once pressure is reached, turn it down to low to just maintain pressure. Than cook for whatever time. Pretty easy really. 4951
