We are probably going to have 2 meals this year.My DH loves cooking Thanksgiving dinner and my parents are older and set in their ways on how they like Thanksgiving dinner done.  We will be going over to their house and then probably having another meal later than night at our place.I can't eat anything with gluten so DH is going to make stuffing that I can eat at my parent's house. What is everyone else having? 4951

I will bake a pecan pie, a sweet potato pie, and a Tollhouse pie.

@Fallon: Do you make the crust or buy one pre-made?  I would love to have a great pie crust recipe to make for my DH.

I know on what day we will have it. That is enough stress for one day. More to come later. 4951

I go to the inlaws for the day. I take a deer roast then the rest of what I like to eat because she is a yankee and does things wrong. Her dressing is disgusting. The only thing gone with no left overs is the deer roast.

I dont eat pork so no ham and her turkey is nasty too. 4951

We switch holidays every year between my parents & the in-laws. Last year we did Thanksgiving with my parents & Christmas with his, so this year we're doing Thanksgiving with DH's parents & Christmas with mine. (His live in Magnolia. It's just too far to drive back & fourth & do both our parents in the same day.) His mom literally cries & throws a fit (no exaggeration) every single year to try to get us for both holidays. It's just not enjoyable for us that way. Anyways DD & I bake something together & I'll bring home made mac n cheese or something. DH's mom makes my favorite dressing (but don't tell MY mom that), & his uncle smokes an amazing turkey every year. No one makes a ham like my mom though. Best there is. And as long as there's a pecan pie, I'm a happy camper. 4951

@terboggs - it could be worse - you could be all by yourself. A nice thing to do on Thanksgiving is to volunteer at the Humble Civic Center. They serve a Thanksgiving meal to anyone that is in need or is alone. 4951

We're going to dd's Inlaws. Sooo nice when Inlaws get along- makes it easy on the kids.

On years we don't entertain we have a "project" one year it was installing wood floors in 2 rooms, another year we tiled the family room ( ha- that one lasted almost to Christmas!! Emoticon. ) This year we're ripping out the tile on the cook island and laying down new tile!! Hopefully done that weekend! 4951

We'll be home alone, just the three of us. We have not decided but I think we want to cook something "different". No chicken, turkey or ham. Maybe a beef tenderloin or some other large cut of beef.

I've never been a big fan of Thanksgiving. And actually this year I may head out that afternoon to some of the sales. 4951
