I will be relocating from New York to Northeast Houston. I am looking for an two bedroom apartment most likely in complex with a pool. My company is located on FM 1960 and Kenswick Drive right near George Bush airport. I would like to have less than an thirty minute commute. I would appreciate any recommendations on good apartments, bad apartments or good areas or areas to avoid.Thank you!! 4951

Are you with a logistics company? There are plenty of places in Humble or Kingwood. It all just depends on what you're looking for as far as amenities.   4951

@mjcboat:  All of Kingwood is nice and most of Humble is nice.  Both would meet your commute requirements. Welcome to the area! 4951

Thank you! I am not with a logistics company. I am a naval architect working for a salvage company. I have already found many prospective apartment complexes I just want to make sure I don't end up in a bad area. From what i'm getting Kingwood and close  to Lake Houston seem to be the way to go.  4951

Personally I would not want to live around 1960 near the mall area which could be more traffic and maybe the potential for more crime.  Some complexes that look nice and appear to be in  good locations but do your research as far as reviews from residents would be Lodge at Kingwood, Harbor Cove, Kings Cove, Harbor View and any down in the waterfront community in Kingwood.  Also, I've read good reviews on message boards of  Oaks of Kingwood.  It sounds like you've done research which is great and continue to do it.  I haven't lived in any of these apartments - just passing on what I have heard.  Good luck! 4951

@Wooderson: As a fellow Yank who just relocated here 3 months ago - welcome! I can't speak fr any apartment complexes, but we live at the back end of Kingwood and it takes 15-20 minutes to get to the airport. Such an easy commute! Good luck with your move and the others have given great advice (as far as I can tell!).

I also would like to encourage you to choose an apartment complex in Kingwood rather than right by your work. That area is not somewhere you really want to live.
There are a few places right on 59 like Bala Woods that will allow you a quick, easy 10 minute commute.
Welcome!! 4951

If you go for an apartment in KW, look for ones up front.  It will take you 20minutes alone to get to the freeway every morning.  Just read the traffic posts that are on here almost every morning. 4951

If you are a physically active person, make sure that you choose Kingwood. You can't beat having the greenbelts in your backyard.  Lots of beautiful, shaded trails to run. Sure beats the gym or running the treadmill. 4951

So I wasn't going to say anything because when my complex gets up to maximum capacity everyone's rent goes up at lease renewal time BUTTTT I'm VERY happy with where I live. PM If you want more details. 4951
