One word. CRIME. All began with section 8 allowed here. The thugs are moving in from the crime filled area and creating out area to be the same. Just as bank robberies now in our area. 4951

That's why the community should come together. By doing this:

1) We can keep an eye on each others properties...such as looking for bad guys that are gonna rob us and Nip it in the BUD!
2) Help keep the Children in our community protected and safe!
3) Make Crime Watch actually work!
4) It's good to know your neighbors.

What do each of you think as a Community we could do?

crime is up everywhere not just kingwood, This happens when you have a leader that tells the world they are entitled to everything others have. People are moving out of kingwood because many were living on champagne taste with a beer budget and when the economy goes poof so do mortgages so they either lose their home or rent it out in hopes to cover the mortgage they can no longer afford. Many renters are great, Im one...Emoticon but when you start to get more renters than buyers its like one huge apartment complex. So you have an expensive neighborhood where over 1/3 rent, you have several forclosures and vacant homes.......this is never good.People are buying outside of Harris county because the taxes are outrageous and we are in a crashing system right now.I think robberies are up because when the economy crashes people hit the better areas because they have better stuff and the other areas have been stripped already or they have more law enforcement due to high crime. People in high crime areas typically have more firearms too. .Want to stop this mess...every neighborhood should have armed citizens protecting their street day and night...let a few stories of kingwood owners shooting criminals on the spot hit the news and watch things get better.Criminals typically go where its easier to get away with it......Kingwood got lazy in protecting its own community. We cant even come up with a plan to keep the wild pigs out and we think we can keep criminals away? 4951

So here is a question: is kingwood patrolled by just HPD? I have seen signs that say this area patrolled by Harris county pct. 4 constables? Is it one, the other or both? 4951

@mardigrasman: Before anexation it was ALL Pct 4. Now I believe some villages can contact for patrol officers. Depends on the village budget.

@Burnsway: I know you are correct in that one. Had. the HPD officers who were pulling over speeders on hwy 59 in Porter, Montgomery county yesterday just before fm 1314 exit were actually in Kingwood on kingwood dr instead maybe the bank robbers would have been caught!

@mardigrasman: and there are residents who have dead family members because someone sped, ran a red light or blew a stop sign.

@SeeVee:

I understand that. My point was more to the fact that is an area that would be patrolled by MCSO correct? 4951

@mardigrasman: if the offense (speeding) took place in the city limits, they can stop them outside the city limits. Of course, if the officer drove like a bat out if hades to catch them in the city limits, people would complain about that too.

I know that...with the increase in crime, maybe things could be prioritized better?
