So my DD is always super polite & considerate, but from halloween- Christmas, man does she step her game up! lol. She was a bear when getting ready this morning so I was quick to remind her that "I don't *have* to take you trick or treating tonight.", so ever since I picked her up from school she's been opening my car door, asking if she can get me anything, telling me how beautiful I am & how much she loves me, how I'm the *best* cook & she loves everything I make, I'm so good at everything, etc., etc., etc. Now she's a sweetie pie who always says & does those kinds of sweet things, but only back to back non stop & consecutively during certain months. She lays it on this thick from halloween all the way through Christmas. I love it, lol! 4951

She's going to be a charmer and master of flattery by the time she's an adult. I have a male friend that does the same thing and sometimes I question his sincerity. 4951

@Drekonix:
Should I be concerned?! lol. She's only 7 & she only acts like this to me, not DH or anyone else. If I could describe her in just one word, it would be sassy! Not charmer, lol. 4951

@Heathur: No reason to be concerned, it's probably just a phase because it gives her a false sense of ability to have power, plenty of kids her age do this 6 and 7 is around the time children can self actualize. When she deals with Authority structures in school and it doesn't work she will realize it's not a feasible way to act (Besides you said she only does this towards you). Nothing wrong with being charming in your adult life, it's how I've gotten a lot of great business relationships just teach her to be sincere about it. PS: This is just my humble opinion!

Hello all.  1st post here.  Are there "official" times for trick or treating in kw?  The news said something like 4-7 but that seems off.   I'm learning not to listen to the news around htx.  - Kid at 4:15 comes back home w/ 3 pieces of candy.  "Mom, nobody was home!" 4951

@Heathur: Sounds like typical female behavior to me - I wouldn't worry too much.

@mdizzle: Hey Mdizzle! Welcome to the community. I've lived in kingwood for 20+ years and Typically I see the younger kids start trick or treating about 30-45 mins before dark, the older kids start at dusk.
