So, it's time to get a new pair of shoes...  After 7+ years, my old Nike Shox have officially died...  Basically.....I'm not really familiar with all of the "new" "high-tech" tennis shoes out there, but the Nike Free Flyknit's caught my attention....Has anyone tried these?Any suggestions / recommendations are most appreciated.... 4951

I only wear Air Jordan Retros. They are remakes from Nike of all the previous years of Air Jordans. I wear Air Jordan 7's which originally came out in 1992. I've got about 6 pairs all in black but with different trim colors. I get them on eBay because they sell out in stores instantly. Really expensive though but super comfortable. 4951

7 years?  Do you excercise/walk/run in them?  My foot doc told me that shoes should be changed every so many miles - like maybe every 8 months (or less) if you are a runner.I don't fall into that category but I sure don't have shoes that are 7 years old 4951

I know nothing about tennis shoes.  I replace my $10 canvas and rubber deck shoes about once per year.  Emoticon 4951

@lolaI have actually never been able to really "wear out" a pair of tennis shoes.... Until now!I've worn these Nike Shox basically a little everyday, except when I broke my ankle....twice....last December, and was in a walking cast for several months...And yes I walk my "kiddos" everyday....I just haven't really "needed" to buy a new pair of tennis shoes.... 4951

DH & I both love our Nike Dual Fusions. He has black & grey men's version & I've got the solid hot pink women's. Emoticon we workout in them daily & they're all around great shoes. DD has some black & hot pink Nike Flex Trainers. She loves hers as well, but she's 7, so I think she just likes them because they're cute & comfy lol. Nike's a great brand though, it's hard to go wrong with them.
(Yes, I took a pic of our shoes when I first got mine a couple of months ago, but only because I'm a giant dork like that. And ignore the white cat fur on my black sheets.) Emoticon

@herron1345:
Not a problem at all. They're very supportive & comfortable. Great for both working out & just running errands alike. Hope you find something you like. Emoticon 4951

I love Adidas. What are you planning to wear them for? I think that makes a difference in which shoe you pick. 4951

@jls2Many Thanks for asking.....I'm an avid walker....  I'm not even going to lie and say that I'm a runner....I walk my (2) boys every morning, and am wanting something for walking (good distances) in and for running errands...  I am wanting a shoe that's lightweight, with support...I'm not at all really familiar with Adidas tennis shoes...  I've been a Nike client for some time....**Any advice, suggestions or recommendations are very much appreciated**     4951

Even if you don't think you wear them out you do. Rule of thumb is about 500 miles per pair. I wear Mizounos. I recommend go and seeing Ray at Luke's locker in the Woodlands. He will find the perfect shoe for you. I have a pair for running and a pair for gym use and running errands 4951

@FallonI very much appreciate the info.....My mother-in-law, who has MS, wears (can only) New Balance, but I honestly hadn't given it a thought for myself...and I've even taken her to the store by the mall...  And I agree totally - really wonderful peeps and exceptional customer service there.... I did think about Asics, but really didn't / don't know anything about the brand or shoes.... Maybe I'll at least go somewhere to try on a pair....Thanks again for the tip..... 4951

If you haven't bought shoes for 7 years, don't be shocked by the bright colors that all of them come in now! 4951
