Last seen alive against curb under mailbox while checking mail....soon seen dead in middle of the street......cause of death seems to be a 2x4 board (all of my sharp objects seemed to disappear when needed) 4951

My scream would have probably
caused the snake to die of a heart attack. 4951

@Annie:
Funny you mention that, ironically the only piece of mail in the mailbox was a letter from my cardiologist asking how I have been doing since my last visit.....great timing

when we lived in Kingwood Texas I found a 2 foot copperhead in my garage . I took the large sweep broom & swept it  out onto the driveway where I took my husband 30 lb. sledge hammer & flattened it's head. I left it laying there for my husband to find when he came home from work because he is afraid of snakes (LOL) . Then about a month later I saw  a beautiful snake about 3 feet long in our back yard , I had no idea what it was so I watched it & when it went under our fence I went I inside & pulled it up on the computer & printed a picture of it so If it came back I could make sure it was the same snake I had a picture of . Sure enough a few days later here comes the same snake . I made all 3 poodles go inside & I took our old garden hoe & chopped it's head off . I put it's remains in the large flower pot I had & took it to the front driveway . I had killed a 3 foot coral snake ! After it was all over with I was a nervous wreck  , but I saved my dogs or someone else from getting killed  . 4951

I could NOT mess with any snake...I scream like a little girl and run the other direction.  On a side note, on my recent runs, I've noticed a dead snake in the road in Elm Grove....every time I pass it, I run just a wee bit faster.  Horrible incentive but whatever works! 4951

I've killed 2 copperheads and 1 rattler (eastern diamondback) in my yard over 20 years.  None were very big. My wife found a small copperhead in our bathroom.  It was only about 8 or 10" long.  I have seen several garter snakes, but let them live.most of the snakes were when the lots behind us were being cleared for new houses. 4951

Speaking of moving company.  My Washer and Dryer are in the garage.  After reading this thread I think I want to wear dirty clothes and skip the garage all together and maybe the back yard.  EEEEK 4951
