Since my daughter has started MDO at the beginning of September she has had 3 colds and then of course my husband and I get them too. Is this how it is going to be all year or does it slow down?

It eventually slows down. Its always like that when they get around the other germy kids. Even in high school they get the beginning of year crud. 4951

I am so sick of being sick and have DD be sick.  It makes me think I should pull her out of MDO and just use the extra money to get a maid!  4951

@N+T: My opinion and experience  is it doesnt slow down till late middle school and you will get sick more also.

@N+T: Homeschool...Emoticon  They still get sick because your out and about but not as much because you can supervise the cleanliness going on. Also for you and hubby, I wouldnt suggest it on the little one till 6 or so but Emergen-c packs really help prevent it and get you better faster.

We experienced the exact same :/ I have never been sick this much in my life. My daughter also brought home her first illnesses from MDO. 4951

It is something that all kids have to go through eventually, whether they are young and in daycare or MDO, or older and experience it in elementary.  It's part of building up either resistence to everyday kids germs and illnesses.  Every kids is different, but it generally lasts for a couple to a few years, once they are exposed to other kids on a regular basis, then it tapers off.  Mine went for a couple of years with 3 to 4 episodes of Croop/URI/bronchitis per year.  In the amount of money we spent renting the nebulizer for breathing treatments each time, we could have bought several machines outright.

If you pull your child out of MDO, then it will just delay the cycle that all kids go through.  It's your call, but might as well continue on and get it out of the way.    4951

Your child will be stronger after she goes through this. 4951
