I feel sooooooooooo sorry for my sister. Her son is acting up badly in daycare. Pulling his pants down, hitting the other kids even the little girls. It's like he doesn't understand right from wrong! She corrects him and he keeps doing the same S#@t over and over. He is only 4! Any advise I can relay to her would be appreciated. 4951

He needs to have consequences for his actions. If he acts up, he gets privileges and/or toys taken away. He'll then learn what the price is for acting up. 4951

My son was the same way and was even kicked out of daycare.  Very frustrating situation to deal with regardless of what disciplinary actions we took.  Finally had him evaluated for potential "pervasive development disorders" and he was diagnosed with Aspergers, which is high functioning form of autism.  Made life much easier since we now had a starting point on parental response and treatment.

May suggest to her to have him taken to a child psychologist for an evaluation.

Good luck. 4951

He is living in a stable and loving home. They have taken all the toys away and is on the reward system for good behavior he earns one toy back. But, it's not working and she told me time out doesn't work either.He laughs at them.  I told her to take him to a child psycologist and maybe they can figure out what is wrong. Also, take him to church! 4951

@PedroDePacas: Not always the answer and Im not against a good @ss whoopin when needed but hard to tell from just a little info but he could be a spirited child and you whoop a spirited childs @ss you could cause more harm then good. Spanking dont always work especially on spirited children. A spirited child will fight back causing parent to smack harder causing child to fight back more and pretty soon abuse can set in over a fight between child and parent.A spirited child isnt being bad because they are a bratt, they are being bad because they just flat out cant control the  million things their brain is saying at once.They can be the hardest headed hyper naughty lil boogers around, often diagnosed ADHD but the truth of it they are the truly gifted ones that make the world turn and we are drugging and beating them in the name of having a good normal kid because we are too lazy to meet their needs.Spirited children have a hard time at school and daycare because we have set a one size fits all schedule for them and they for sure dont fit in one size only situations.

@GOODPICKS: I think you are on the right track....   Either he is seeing this type of behavior or abuse somewhere or there may be some type of medical issue..

@fcabanski:
Not even funny...   I am pretty sure you can go to jail for backhanding a 4 year old..   A spanking or even the belt might be an option a backhand.......   just wrong and not even funny if meant as a joke.. 4951

I don't know if he is a spirited child or the devils spawn. But, I have never seen a child at that age not be able to learn right from wrong! The way he laughs at them when they put him in time out or take his toys away and tells them I don't care. Maybe he is stuck in his terrible 3's??? 4951

Definitely need to take him to be evaluated. Then if there's no underlying psychological issues, they've obviously gone wrong somewhere. A 4 yr old doesn't just come up with that behavior on their own. 4951

@GOODPICKS: A lot is change in diet and environment, our childrens food is loaded with dyes and crap that totally changes a childs chemistry.My child can go from a love bug sensitive angel to a demon spawn in 5 seconds flat when certain foods are eaten. Its very hard for parents to understand what they are reacting to and it seems our first response is to beat them or drug them or give them some new drug needed fad label. Doctors are terrible for writing a label out on our kids when a simple diet change or research on parents end could make a world of difference. SPD can also make a child act out like you mentioned.(sensory processing disorder) It can be genetic, caused by food allergies and or trauma or all above.  In my daughters case who has not been diagnosed yet but pretty sure she has it by symptoms was most likely caused by trauma abuse she endured 2 years ago.Just dont jump on the first diagnoses or excuse and have your sister research things deep.
