Had one of the worst grocery shopping experiences tonight at HEB.This is a first world problem for sure. Some of the stuff I wanted was on the bottom shelf, but pushed all the way back. Can't get down that low to get them. At least and not get back up since I hurt my knee yesterday on the stairs at the dorm. Can't find wifies coffee, call, no answer. Backup rule #1 if they don't have what she wants, don't get it. (I learned when I got home that rule ONLY applies when I buy something she doesn't like, if I actually follow that rule, and she has no coffee, that is a bad thing also). The place was pretty full, I was there from 6-8 PM tonight.4 check outs open, 1 of which was express.2 baggers. If I want to bag my own, I'll go some where else.Could not find 4 things (empty shelves).Could not reach two things (bottom shelf pushed to the back).Took 22 minutes to check out.At least all 4 wheels worked on the cart.... 4951

I am dreading going tomorrow. I was there last Sunday and people were stocking up like it was going to snow this week. I saw carts full of lunch items like they couldn't make it back to the store in a month! 4951

I think you're just crabby. Those things happen to everyone at times. Def. firtst world issues. HEB has so many other things worth the trouble. That salsa they make there, their own OJ, the brands and the organic stuff. Oh and those Artesian breads!! With butter! 4951

Ally - try HEB. It is so much better than Kroger. I've been going to HEB for 10 years now and drive past Kroger to get there! 4951

Kroger on WLH  is much better...

@Ally: But more expensive. The same items typically cost me $20-$30 more for a weeks worth of groceriesAnd lets not talk about Randall's.

HEB generally has lower prices everyday than Kroger - no dealing with the Kroger card.  Randalls prices can be ridiculous. Whenever I am there, they have one regular checkout line and one express line open. At HEB, they could have 8 or 9 lanes open. One example of a price difference - Ben and Jerry's ice cream is $3.46 at HEB and $4.49 at Randalls. 4951

We've learned to avoid going grocery shopping on the weekend.  All are crowded and understaffed.  Of course, some people have no choice but to shop on weekends. 4951

@cgm10sne1:   Community dark roast is the only coffee my parents would drink.  I still like it, but have to go decaf.
