I've been going into Citizen Doughnuts because they are close to where I live. They are an OK(?) doughnut shop at a fair price and they have been accommodating with a special pastry we like (chocolate covered cinnamon roll) with no problems. This morning I went in and ordered my usual and they just flat out refused. You see, here in America, we have this concept that the customer is always right. They're NOT that good of a doughnut place to be treated like that. Won't be back! 4951

Not really businesses use to believe the customer was always right, but no so much anymore! Where is this place I've  never heard of it? 4951

People that assume they should always get exactly what they want annoy me. I deal with that daily. The customer is NOT always right. 4951

@pksbar:

Im not sure about that. Customers have developed a sense of entitlement that just isn't always deserved. 4951

@BooBear: What you said is true & I think sometimes a business does give up on customer service just to get rid of that PIA customer. There money isn't always worth the BS.

I think most business will accommodate the once in a while requests but if someone is always demanding something that is not even offered, that is just too much. The fact that she got mad just reinforces the idea for the business to say no to all requests.

@Subdriver738: While I agree that a business should always try to meet any "reasonable" customer requests, I don't think the customer is always right.  I've heard some people make some very unreasonable demands.In your case, if they had the chocolate already melted and all they had to do was dip the cinnamon rolls, that's a reasonable request.  However, if they had just cleaned the equipment and melted chocolate was not readily available, I can understand their refusal.... but they should have explained WHY.

@Subdriver738: Sometimes being unreasonable with that sense of entitlement, like its MY money give me what I want because the world should bow to me and people owe me, is too much to deal with, good riddance!    You must be from the ME generation.Just calling it like I see.

The next time I go eat at Pappasito's, I'm going to tell them I want a big piece of lasagna and a sushi roll. Because it's my money, and I'm right. Emoticon 4951

The doughnuts at WESTCO have this funny metallic taste to them. Don't like them at all. 4951

Doughnuts are bad for you anyway, maybe you should consider oatmeal and blue berries.  Available at any grocery store near you.  4951

@Francita: Good suggestion. Lots of fiber, too...good for constipation. I mean, if that's an issue. Emoticon 4951
