>> My spring broke the other day and I plan on fixing it on Friday
@mm4731:
I thought about trying to fix it myself after watching a few do-it-yourself videos online. After some consideration, I think I'll let a pro handle it this time and just observe. Let me know how it goes though.....I might just be persuaded to change my mind!
@djchavez0921: I am a DIY'er 100%, but after all of my research....the consensus was to let a pro handle it. He made it look easy, but I also watched and saw just how one could lose some teeth or break an arm very quickly.Crazy thing....Mine broke in the middle of the night. We were sleeping and I heard a loud "BOOM", so I jumped out of bed, armed myself and sprinted to the garage to see what happened.
@salth2o:
Yeah, it was around 10:30 at night when we heard ours go, and down I went just like you. Except I couldn't figure out where it had come from until the next day when the Mrs called me at work and said the garage door would only open about a foot and stop. Then I put two and two together.
Ok, so the consensus is to let a pro handle this and I will follow up with some of the suggested companies.
Thanks all!! 4951
