I read a post earlier in the week from a lady complaining about a Wendy's in Atascocita. And I agree, if you are going to work in an English environment, you should very well speak English. However, I was floored at some of the responses to follow. I thought I felt a sense of racism when my family bought our home 7 years ago here in Kingwood, but being prior military, I shrugged it off until earlier this week. Now, I sadly know I was right to begin with. So, I wrote the following in hopes to gain appreciation for the work my people provide for this community. Today's rant. *****? Brown & Proud! Since I have taken this new job, in housekeeping, it has given me a whole new outlook on life/racism. While walking to work yesterday, I took notice to the landscaping guys working their butts off in the HOT SUN, Mexican. The lady pushing the stroller with 2 Anglo kids in it, Mexican. The guys on top of the 'hot as hell' house repairing the roof, Mexican. That bumper to bumper traffic you are sitting in, why? Because Mexicans are repairing the roads. Oh, by the way in the middle of the day/100 degree heat. And think about it, who do you normally see standing on the corner all day in the heat or cold waiting for work? The Mexicans. Not to mention the hundreds if not thousands of Mexican restaurants you eat off of, Mexican. It just irks me how society can say that the Mexicans are corrupting this and corrupting that. Illegal this, illegal that. It isn't Mexicans fault that Americans have become so lazy and spoiled. The only difference is ONE PIECE of paper that says you can be here. Americans have a choice on these jobs, but simply because they are 'too good' for that type of work, they don't apply. Honey, the last time I checked, money was money --- no matter what work you did, as long as my kids are fed and my bills are paid it doesn't matter how hard I have to sweep, scrub, mow, repair, or sweat my *** off. US Mexicans will always do what we gotta do to honestly make that money --- no questions or complaining about it.A word to those Americans who think that 'wetbacks' need to go back to Mexico --- you will NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER find such great, amazing, honest, dedicated, hard working people who are willing to do YOUR work for such small fees. So for those that disagree I have come up with a solution: STOP USING OUR SERVICES and EATING OUR FOOD! Us 'Mexicans' need to go on strike for one day and lets just see what happens. Guarantee, it isn't going to be pretty. --- disgusted to say the least.
@VivaMexico: Sorry, this could be said for EVERY hard working AMERICAN who are here legally and paying into the system.
