There are really good people out there. Too bad most of the news is only about the bad ones. But with this instant news lately there are getting to be more stories of the good people do! Here's to you Officer Kerr!! 4951
An awesome time for a 9 year old!!! Just under 6 mph- way faster than my best time of 5k in 44:00. What a nice thing for the Marine to do- we ( not sure I count myself as a runner per se) runners and cyclists often will ditch the personal bests to help another runner or cyclists. Back in May dh and I did Tour La Fitte in Lake Charles. Dh and I did the 28 mile route - at a pretty good clip of 17 mph. We came in, troweled off and chilled. About 15-20 minutes after we came in the announcer on the PA said " the last riders for the 10 mile ride are arriving( we're talking an average of less than 5mph). So a bunch of us gathered along the finish to cheer them in. It was sooo cute- it was a Dad and his 2 boys- one about 7-8 and the other maybe 4 or 5. The little one still had training wheels- he had ridden 10 miles on a bitty bike with training wheels!!!! You can bet they got the loudest cheers. It was so awesome seeing that little boy- all smiles crossing the finish line!! 4951
