I always bought my kids the one from Pottery Barn Kids.  It has the built in pillow and blanket and you can personalize it and throw the whole thing into the washer and dryer. They wash well and lasted throughout their preschool years.  The vinyl ones make them sweaty and get scratched and ripped easily.  The Pottery Barn ones or similar ones roll up easily with built in straps.  You will be carrying it and a backpack along with whatever craft your kid made that day back and forth.  It's a lot to keep up with.  The kids can strap the nap mat to their backs and keep one of your hands free to get everything and everyone through the parking lot and to you car a lot easier.  Preschool parking lots are full of tired and or wired little kids and distracted moms trying to drive and listen to their kids day at the same time, moms that are running late and driving too fast in the parking lot, etc.  You have to be on your toes.  Make it easy Emoticon 4951

as a former teacher of little ones, i highly suggest the pillow/mat/ blanket combo. it makes it easier to keep everything together. instead of having to keep up weith all 3 items on their own.  4951
