I just received the eTribune.  The following article appears - very sad!Kingwood teen dies after swallowing methB.R. Kimbro A Kingwood teenager died the morning of July 6 in College Station after swallowing a bag of crystal meth during a traffic stop, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.Madeleine Gene Richardson, 19, was riding in a friend's car on U.S. 290 near Brehnam on Friday afternoon when police pulled them over for speeding, authorities reported. Deputies arrested Richardson and the driver, 20-year-old Gary Keife, also of Kingwood, after discovering marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the car.Deputies said Richardson appeared sick upon arriving at Washington County Jail and paramedics were called to the scene.According to police, Richardson allegedly told paramedics that she had swallowed a bag of methamphetamine during the traffic stop. She was taken to Scott & White Hospital in Brenham then to the College Station Medical Center where she died at approximately 4:30 a.m.Authorities are awaiting a Travis County autopsy report to determine the exact cause of death. The Texas Rangers Division of the Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident.  4951

@EvanCarroll: To a lot of meth addicts, jail and rehab are the same thing.

Only you can get meth in jail. 4951

@PedroDePacas: Prison is not jail; I happen to know a lot of meth addicts and drugs users, and to them prison is not the same thing. Same can be said for alcoholics too. There is a reason why AA is so popular, and it's precisely because they all know prison is far worse.

The article doesn't say she's a drug addict or even a user. She tried to swallow the evidence. I happen to think it was probably the boyfriends maybe. 4951

@TheTruthHurts: I did think of that also.  I wonder where he is? Still in jail? Probably not.

@TheTruthHurts:  Swallowing your own Meth is stupid enough, swallowing your boyfriends/girlfriends Meth is even more stupid.  However, I realize that young people "in love" sometimes do some really stupid things in the name of love.   It's sad that they were in possession of Meth, sadder for whoever was using it, and the saddest of all is the parents who lost a child in a situation like this.

Just for the record, the guy she was with was not her boyfriend.  She was not a drug addict, just made a very stupid decision for whatever reason we will never know.  She is being laid to rest tomorrow afternoon so despite what you may think of her, please pray for her family and friends who have a lost a young girl way too soon.  4951

@TheTruthHurts: I never assumed she was, or that it was the boyfriends. I just implied that the harsh penalties caused her demise and not the drug which was just in a baggy not doing anything but threatening her with a felony when the **** showed up to cause trouble.
