First let me say that we do not know for sure that he killed his alledged friend.  If he did, what would make someone throw away $40, 000, 000 ? 4951

It starts in Middle School imo.You have some kids that are the trouble makers, but you have weak coaches who will not do what needs to be done, because they want to win.  These kids need to learn, way before Middle School, but certainly while in Middle School, that if you break rules there are consequences.Yet you just don't see coaches doing what needs to be done.

@Fallon: Alot of that has to do with the fact we have taken away their right to do what needs to be done.....  JMO

Unfortunately, this behavior is not uncommon.  When you have a good athlete that is "worshipped" in high school and/or college, then give them huge amounts of money that they are not mature enough to handle.  They start to believe that they can do anything and they won't be held accountable or that their money will get them out of trouble. 4951

Sadly, there are still people out there that would welcome him onto their team, while booing Tim Tebow. The guy is a thug. I bet he take roids which enourages his rage. Here is my advice for professional athletes. Get up in the morning, train, go home, watch TV go to bed. Repeat 7 days a week. Mix in some church while you are at it.Dude has an 8 month old a fiancee and is still hitting the bars. Nice life change. @Fallon don't forget about parents. Not only parents of athelets but the other parents on teams coddling the star athlete.  4951

@Retired_Engineer:  Yep, while other students have trouble getting out of HS even if they have all As because of the stupid test  they make them take, I wonder who takes these test for some of the guys in the NFL, surely they did not pass on their own.I have to keep telling myself, this is not a fair world; I see kids all the time determined to make it, working while going to college and once they graduate either can't find a job or find one and end up struggling to make ends meet.We need to teach our kids at homePerhaps I should feel guilty for participating in the Draft last year

@missunder:  If the NCAA-azis have anything to do with it, nobody.  If they qualify, they are set.  Just need to qualify.  If not, JUCO or Prep baby. Most upper teir SEC schools, or any big Div 1 school for that matter, will have an entire herd of people to help them study once they get on campus (but the NFL could care less about your grades really in school).  If you can make it 3 years, it's all you need.  Ask Jerry Jones about that.

Give it a rest. It's not about the coaches, taking tests, getting preferential treatment or money. if that were the case, we'd see Tom Brady and Peyton Manning in handcuffs, years after Barry Sanders and Walter Payton were arrested.

When I was in college, most athletes took Physical Education or something similar.  Many didn't even bother attending class.  I am sure that hasn't changed.  However, one of the football players was an Engineering student while I was there. I asked him wasn't that hard to do during football season?  He said it was. Some of the Profs let him make up tests and homework.  The wisest thing he said was that he wanted a career in case football didn't work out or he had a football career-ending injury. 4951
