We are selling our house and it looks like it will be done sooner than expected,we will probably be moving into an apartment for about 6 months until we find a house to buy. I have a 95 pound lab that sucks at walking on a leash. So just curious if anyone knows of a reasonably priced trainer that could focus mainly on leash walking. I'm also 4 months pregnant so I can't handle him the way he is on a leash now so def need some training. 4951

I think any training worth taking is pricey.  Have you checked with PetSmart about their program?  Also, I've heard some folks say the leashes that have the strap that goes over the nose stops the dog from pulling.  I couldn't get my Barkley to even put it on, but some folks swear by them.  You might try that before you hire a trainer.  4951

@Irispixies: It's called a gentle leader.  I broke my wrist walking our dog. She pulls like nobody's business.  We got the leader and although she hates it, it works.  The key is tons of praise and treats when introducing your dog to it.  The ones at Petsmart come with a DVD guide as well.  I have also heard that there is a special harness that goes over their shoulders and supposedly works.Petsmart is having a free leash training.  It is to get more people to sign up for their training class but they still give tips.  You might want to try it out and see if they have any pointers.

Lots of patience.  We have been doing really short walks and making him sit a lot.  Mine pull like crazy too.  4951
