Old San Francisco Steakhouse was my favorite and well worth the drive. I'm sad that it closed several years ago. We definitely could use another place like that. To fill the gap, I would suggest these:
Texas Land and Cattle is also good. There's also Morton's and 3 Forks, downtown. I second the vote for Vic & Anthony's Although I've never been, I've heard great reviews for Ruth's Chris and Steamboat House 4951
I have friends who go to Vic & Anthony's once a year for their lobster. V & A will be participating in (i'm having a senior moment) Taste of Texas/Houston???? Not sure, but I'll find out, where all the participating restaurants serve meals at a discounted rate. 4951
