It's typically cheaper to put a storage shed in your yard. 4951

If the storage is required indefinitely, it's better to think if you really need it at all or buy the storage shed for the back yard. If its temporary storage for less than a few months, just go with what is closest, easiest to use. Climate controlled depending on contents.

Do you need the physical copies of the files or can you scan and store them electronically? 4951

After watching Storage Wars on TV, I can't believe that people actually spend money to store useless junk. Not saying that is what you are doing, @TexINSEmoticonThat show is unreal.  People are paying $70+ a month to store nonsense.  Just get rid of it.  I guess this is why there is a hoarding show too.

@Fallon: I liked the Storage Wars show at the start.  Then I learned the producers "seed" some of the units with valuable items.I agree, most people should just get rid of their excess stuff.

My husband's cousin lives outside NYC, he was an only child & when his mother died he took all her stuff & it's been in a storage unit for more than 10 yrs. To the both of us that is just riduculous. He works but says he can't afford his medical insurance! He pays $210 a month on the storage unit.  Why would anyone do that?  When he calls I ask him if he's spent anytime at the storage unit.  Of course he hasn't opened it in years...Oh and he voted for Obama! He's in for a rude awakening.  4951

Had a cousin that did that for years too @pksbar, just beyond stupid.  The worse part was that he stored all of his really useless junk in a storage unit so that he would have space at home for his good junk.  I guess it is a mental illness, but something I think a good solid smack upside some peoples head would cure them of a lot of things.

@Fallon: Wow what a real fantasy. I would love to have the ability to slap certain people upside the head.                    I can see it now, just make them line up in single file and bam, bam, bam........
