I need new eye glasses and RX sun glasses, both no line bifocals. I usually shop at Lens Crafters in the mall. I like that they r ready the same day.
Any other recommendations? 4951

Weird but I've heard great things about WalMart's vision services.  A friend said she got tired of paying premium prices for her glasses and took the Rx from her eye doctor over to WalMart and was very pleased with their choice of frames.  She said she'll never go back to having her doc make her glasses again.  Just an option.  Not sure I'd use their docs, but I've never heard anything negative. I've used Gustafson for years and love him!  He'll be retiring soon, though, so not sure how long I'll be able to keep returning to his office.  I think he's bringing in someone else to take over his practice. 4951

Looked at Lens crafters today. And was jaw dropped at the prices. For my script with HD lenses on a pair of $150 frame and $80 sunglasses frame. Plus take the sale of 40% off they wanted to charge me $900!!! Oh Hell no!

I have never spent more than $500 when buying both pairs in years past.

Doing some shopping around this week. 4951

you can reuse your old frames.  Will keep the costs down.  I like vision source but yes the are expensive.  Takes about 10 days to get your new ones in.   Sams club has them too and a dr next door just as walmart does 4951

@N+T - did you mention that you need the no line bifocals? That adds up for more $ when pricing new lenses. I go to Eye Trends in Kingwood and I am very happy with my glasses. I was going to Dr. Shrum's office and did not get a good prescription from him. I ended up going to Eye Trends to correct the prescription and now have been going for at least 5 years. 4951
