I bought a 2011 Aveo due to being sick and not driving very  much.  Today I put the car in the garage and I noticed a puddle of water under the driver side where the Tire is.  Clear Water.   I made another couple of trips and when I turned my car off I could hear boiling water under hood.  I checked coolant and it looked good.We changed the thermostat few months ago.   ??   Help? 4951

@Ann2800: If the water puddle evaporates after 30 minutes or so (no longer visible), then it's just your AC condenser dripping, which is completely normal with the AC running, and high humidity level we have.  If the puddle/wet spot is still there the next morning, it's engine coolant, which means you need to take it to someone as it has a leak somewhere in the engine cooling system (could be a hose, water pump, hose clamp, etc.).  The boiling sound is usually the AC compressor de-compressing once the engine is turned off.

I think @buffaloglenn nailed it for you.Although with our humidity, the puddle from the A/C lasts longer than 30 minutes, I have seen it an hour later actually. 4951

Sometimes your engine (new engines) will have small air pockets in the water jackets. At these locations the water may boil.  They will usually find their way out over time.  They do sell products that help the water to retain the heat in these air pockets.  Just keep an eye on your engine temperature. As long as it DOES warm up and obviously doesn't overheat then it shouldn't be an issue.  Make sure no plastic bags have found their way to the front of your radiator.        A little trick that I didn't teach you....   You can put a small amount of pepper in your radiator.  It doesn't harm Anything to be floating around in the water.  If you happen upon a "small" water leak, the pepper will actually clog at the hole.   If you don't like putting things in your radiator (like myself) then you can just keep some of the small packages of pepper (that you get for free from restaurants or in the plastic utensils bags) in your glove box.  Great little trick for long road trips.    BTW, this trick has been tested.  It does work even though it sounded crazy. 4951

@BooBear:   Usually heat will destroy a battery.  That is the problem with the Hybrid cars in the south.  The heat destroys the batteries.
