I think texting and driving should be held as the same laws as being drunk or under the influence.
Everyone who knows me knows I am an animal lover BUT if your dog/cat will not ride without distracting you then they need to be restrained.
I see this all the time a dog running under the seats, pedals, jumping all over the vehicle causing the driver to be distracted. It is dangerous not only to the owners but everyone else on the road as well as your furvaby.
@4psychos: I have 4 dogs that ride in the car with me, and I TOTALLY agree with you! Mine stay in the back, they may stand on the center console, but will get back as soon as I say so. Granted, mine are too big to sit in my lap and such while driving. But, I have driven with small dogs that always want to be on your lap ,and I will absolutely not allow it......very dangerous, b/c there is no way that you can fully control the steering wheel when you are worried about the dog on your lap.As far as texting while driving - it is scary. I teach high school, and if students do text, and I know about it - I ask them why. Their response is that nothing has happened to them, so no worries. UGH>........ They really do at times think they are invincible.
