I see drivers trying to do it all day long. C'mon you can't do it, so don't. You are just going to run into me, another driver, a tree, you are going to cause traffic jams, make people late (you already do at the stop lights when we have to wait for you to finish your text before driving - thanks for leaving me 10 seconds to get the green light). Is that text eally that important? At 60 mph you travel 88 feet per second. For parents with new drivers here is a good lesson. This girl could be right out of KHShttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2326400/Savannah-Nash-Girl-16-killed-texting-driving-solo-drive.html Hope that text was worth it.

It seems no matter what we say the kids still text and drive. It's like they think it will never happen to them. Its sad. You can always tell the people who are texting while driving. They will be swerving all over the lane. 4951

@pacmax or they think no one notices them with their head jammed into their head rest and eyes looking down at their smart phone being held in their lap or lower part of their steering wheel. Adults are stupid too for doing it too. 4951

I see just as many adults doing it as kids...  I actually think the kids are refraining...   The adults on the other hand think they have been driving forever and they can "do it"...   I agree scary !!!!  My kid drives a stick shift I figure its almost impossible to talk or text when you have to shift.. 4951

I think texting and driving should be held as the same laws as being drunk or under the influence.
Everyone who knows me knows I am an animal lover BUT if your dog/cat will not ride without distracting you then they need to be restrained.
I see this all the time a dog running under the seats, pedals, jumping all over the vehicle causing the driver to be distracted. It is dangerous not only to the owners but everyone else on the road as well as your furvaby. 4951

@4psychos: What really bothers me is when I see a dog running loose in the bed of a pickup. It only takes one tap on the brakes for that dog to go flying out and possibly getting run over.

people are addicted to texting.  I was at the library today for an infant lapsit class and half the mothers were texting instead of interacting with their baby!!! 4951

When you MULTIPLY the few MINUTES of delay and traffic problems each compulsive texter causes TIMES the sheer number of self-centered TWITS out there texting and driving, there's no wonder you can't go anywhere in the Houston/Kingwood area without wait, wait, waiting.  I wish people didn't feel so entitled to 24/7 entertainment.  People text while they drive because they are trying to fill every waking moment with some kind of entertainment and they cannot bear the time spent alone with their empty self.  4951

@4psychos: I have 4 dogs that ride in the car with me, and I TOTALLY agree with you!  Mine stay in the back, they may stand on the center console, but will get back as soon as I say so.  Granted, mine are too big to sit in my lap and such while driving.  But, I have driven with small dogs that always want to be on your lap ,and I will absolutely not allow it......very dangerous, b/c there is no way that you can fully control the steering wheel when you are worried about the dog on your lap.As far as texting while driving - it is scary.  I teach high school, and if students do text, and I know about it - I ask them why.  Their response is that nothing has happened to them, so no worries.  UGH>........ They really do at times think they are invincible.

Although not as dangerous, I am getting peeved at the texting and buggy driving at the store. Or being behind someone that is texting and walking. Then they just stop. You bump into them and they look at you like it was your fault. 4951

They were probably updating their Facebook telling everyone where they were so they seem like great mommies. 4951
