My poor girl is constipated. Emoticon

I don't really understand how because she's doesn't get formula at all. She's ready for solids so the doc said to give her pears. That worked for a couple of days, but now she's on 4 days with no bm. We're trying diluted apple juice tonight. She won't take a bottle so I bought a baby sippy cup. She seems more interested in using it as a teether though! So it looks like I'll be syringe feeding it to her. Doc said if she doesn't go by the morning she'll need a glycerine suppository. Fun! I feel bad for my little baby, but I feel bad for what I'm going to have to clean up when she finally explodes! 4951

Emma has constipation problems too. Prune purée works the best. Pears and peaches are decent too.

FYI: Peas are very constipating.

My friend breast feeds her daughter and has issues with constipation too. She has to feed her prune puree almost everyday and apple juice in a sippy cup sometimes too.

If you have an outfit that doesn't slip over her head, like button down rompers. It might be wise to dress her in that until she poops. It's much easier for clean up. Do you have some kind of mattress cover? Just in case she poops at night or during a nap. I keep a washable hospital chucks pad under Emma's crib sheets.

Good luck. 4951

That always helped mine. I miss being able to go to chiro whenever I wanted or even have him come to the house when my back was completely out once. 4951

@BooBear: yeah, ive adjusted a lot of kids/toddlers, even newborns. It helps with just about everything. Croup, constipation, loss of stuff.

Once I had a new dad come into my office because the pediatrician next door couldn't help his 7 week old. The baby would cry nonstop because of reflux. He couldn't lay down or even recline at all. They had put him on meds and nothing helped. They had decided they needed to do an endoscopy but the dad didn't want to.

I adjusted that baby 2 or 3 times, problem solved.

Glad she is feeling  much better and can get some sleep tonight.  Constipation can cause some serious fussiness.   4951
