Since when is it appropriate for a cop to draw a gun on you and call you a MF in front of your 5yr old?? Accused of tapping someones trailer hitch that he got a ticket for it being out too far. Said I ran from the scene, yet he was in front of me the entire time even when cops showed up. Said I was going 60 down north park in 5pm traffic. Now anyone knows that is impossible. I have no record. Cops would have had to run my plates and seen that. This has been a really jacked up day and now my kid is afraid of the cops.
Ugh way to go KPD. 4951

Well HPD kingwood branch. Better? He didn't have a reason and ended up saying to the DA he screwed up by pulling it. And no they don't have cameras. We asked. 4951

Sounds like almost more than a screw up.   I would be very upset also.  Sounds like at least a letter to the HPD is in order.

We complained to his superior and the superior came to our house to ease things over with our little one. We don't want him afraid of the police because of this. He told him daddy didn't do anything and was some bad info. Pretty much apologized without saying the words. At least they did this but still doesn't make the bad decisions made go away 4951

No no no - stuff like that happens all the time to me.

Just the other day, junior and I had just bought popsicles from the ice cream man and we were sitting on the curb just outside my house. 3 cops cars showed up, all pulled their weapons and demanded I lay on the ground. Scared junior and now he's afraid of popsicles. Sad!!!! 4951

Y'all are idiots. I'm not bothering responding. The cops drew a weapon unnecessarily in front of my 5yr old and admitted they screwed up. It's called a young hot headed cop on a power trip. Not uncommon. 4951

So I understand....it was unprovoked, just  pulled out a gun, no nothing on your part, you were just standing calmly, not yelling, not cursing, not providing your own bad scene in front of a 5 year old? 4951

I did take the time, uncommon for me lol, to read the entire post. So I am aware that s/he is not posting anymore. But on the off chance you are coming back to read, IMO you should not let this go if you believe that you and your family were put into danger.
1) report to the superiors (done)
2) follow up to make sure action was taken against the alleged officer. You want to make sure this is documented in his jacket, to ensure s/he is held accountable.
3) might be to late, but report incident to the local news station. Make sure you report every detail from point of impact to officer leaving your residence.
4) if you are planning any kind of legal lawsuit you most likely will have a long hard journey ahead.
***don't get so pissy on a public forum, people have a right to their opinion, is that not why you made the thread?*** 4951

No the officer was not provoked. He wrote in his report he thought I was getting something out of my glovebox. If that was true he would have seen my kid in the car and my hands were on the wheel the entire time. Id try to cover my butt too. I'm a security officer. I know what to do. Their tone changed once the opened my wallet and saw my guard card. It was crazy. All because of some idiot telling the cops something that was impossible if they had used their brains and thought about it and a vehicle that had no damage. Plus it was blown way out of proportion and handled inappropriately. If I did something wrong wouldn't I be in jail for child endangerment and fleeing the scene? 4951

@sunlh99: how do you know what the report said? HPD doesn't release the contents of offense reports. They only release the "public information" page which is a very brief summary of the incident.

And do you really think a security guard identification card intimidates a police officer?
