Over the past few years, I have not driven around much over past Lake Houston Parkway and 1960.  I had reason to drive quite a way past 1960 to attend Relay for Life this past Friday.  What a beautiful area Summerwood is!   I did not realize Lake Houston Parkway actually went all the way to the Beltway!Maybe I should start getting out more and checking the growth around me from time to time!  Have you recently discovered an area you would like to share with us? 4951

I have not been that far down Lake Houston Parkway.   I have heard good things about Summerwood and Eagle Springs but never have seen them. 4951

I think you will be very surprised when you do go.  It is very nice!!  I was certainly impressed!  Heck, the lights were even synchronized so I pretty much drove straight through after getting over 1960!  It was sort of hard to drive and sight see at the same time but I did it. lol  4951

@grandma again: How many grand kids do you have?   You should start a thread to introduce yourself.  The people on here are mostly friendly and a bit eccentric. You can click on people and read their profiles.

It's such a nice, pretty drive. They have a lot of wonderful stores and food places as well. The HEB over there is top notch as well. It beats the Atascocita.one by a mile. 4951

Duessen and Eisenhower parks really are awesome. When I need to get some cycling training in and I'm solo I go there. Duessen can get busy on the weekends - Eisenhower is really very quiet- fishermen park and then head back into the woods to fish.Duessen has an awesome dog park. We're lucky to have those parks 4951

zephard, i have 13 grand children.  7 of those have come to us from second marriages of my daughters and 1 young lady who married my oldest grandson.  i count them all as mine.  heck, i have even been adopted by some kiddos who do not have grand parents or whose grandparents live far away.  It is all good.  They all need our love and we certainly need theirs!i will take a drive back down to the parks talked about on this thread one day.  sounds even nicer than what i saw on my first trip through. Summerwood is nice, but I prefer Eagle Springs- more secluded and less crime (due to access the easy access to the beltway).  That's why we chose to buy a house in Eagle Springs. 4951

@Littlegoo: I work for the developer in ES...and have since 2001 when ES first began.   (It's also the same developer as SW.)  We've seen this segment of town BOOM since then - lots of growth.  There are some very pretty areas around here!

When we were looking for homes in the area, we really liked Kingwood, and still do, but there was just something very appealing about Eagle Springs- we just had to buy a house there.  LOVE the family friendly atmosphere. 4951

@grandma again:
There's a great big dog park in Deussen.  If you take a left on Deussen in Summerwood (McDonalds on the left corner) you will see Deussen park on your left after about 1 mile.  As the street makes a Y, take the left side and you will see the Dog Park entrance.  Rumor is they are going to add a pool for the dogs.  It gets pretty hot our there during the summer.  They will love it!

You should take Bella!  4951
