Good news!  I found out today that Sentinel is available again!  Maybe I can save a few $$ instead of buying the more expensive Trifexis like I was forced to do. 4951

@Love2Run: That is great. Now...if my vet will only carry it.

After a few months, I refused to use Trifexis.

My co-worker got a 6 mos supply at Atascocita Animal Hosp. on 1960E.  I plan to call my vet this week (Lake Houston Animal clinic in Huffman) to see if they're carrying it now.  @lola - why did you refuse?  4951

I had to put my 8mo old border to sleep due to uncontrollable seizures. My older bc had a couple of seizures too. 4951

Sentinel is available again and it is a lot cheaper right now than it used to be.  I guess they want people to use it again. 4951

I bought mine last week at Loop 494 Vetinary Hospital.  I am soooo glad it's on the shelves again! I don't know why it was unavailable for so long.  There is a rebate form for $10 on a 6 pill box too. 4951

@ Lola.  I'm so sorry to hear that.  My old guy is seizure prone and I'm afraid that's what will eventually take him.  All three of my rescues, him included, have been on Trifexis since Sentinel went off the market.  4951

@Okiedokie: I'm not 100% certain but I was told by a vet tech that the plant was shut down due to violations, but that it didn't impact the production of veterinary meds, only 'human' meds.

What is a good flea pill for dogs that does not cost a arm and leg?

@silly123: We use comboguard.  It costs us 18.99 a month and is delivered to our home.  It does worms(hook, heart, round) and fleas.  The cost depends on the weight of the dog.  Ours pup is about 40lbs , so we pay a bit more.

@Zephard: same ingredient in trifexis for fleas.  some dogs have a reaction to it.  one of mine did.
