Has anyone been on the 7 day out of Galveston to Jamaica, Cayman Islands, and Cozumel?The only cruise I have ever been on was on Holland America through St. Thomas, San Juan, Grand Turk, and Half Moon Cay. On the last trip the beaches were at a very easy access. With the Carnival trip I am worried about traveling far to get to a public beach. Anyone have any tips for this trip? 4951

We have done this cruise twice and it is awesome!!!! Both times in Jamaica we went to Seawinds which is a beach resort with awesome food, great snorkeling and non motorized equipment. The pool and beach is clean and the all inclusive beverages and food are very very good. They treat you very well  and we even made a good friend there. They have games the DJ plays and you can win prizes (we won 4 mini rums and 1 large bottle of rum!)First time in Grand Cayman (which is one of the most awesome places on earth) we swam with the rays and if you have never done it, it is a must! When we were there in February we para sailed and spent time on 7mile beach...awesome!Cozumel is a given. We travel there several times a year. Snorkeling is great, good shopping and lots of fun.The Carnival Magic is a great ship.  Both of our experiences on the Magic have been wonderful, we sail the Triumph this summer and will be on the Magic again come spring. There are some great deals with Carnival and if you are interested in a good cruise planner, PM me and I will give you his information. He has found us great deals and always let's us know of upcoming specials and ways to save. Hope you book and enjoy! Happy crusin'! 4951

iv also been on the magic and got married on it. I went on the cayman, jamaica, cozumel cruise on the conquest and the key west and bahamas cruise on the magic. i couldnt imagine sailing with another cruise line. iv been to the caymans before so i just walked from the cruise pier to eden rock and went snorkeling. my favorite room is 11263 but i would consider particular coves. im going on the triumph in september with @bearae to try out a 5 day aft view. me personally, the magic was great but on our january cruise i will try the sunshine out of new orleans. 4951

Are Carnival cruise lines Kid friendly or would you suggest to go in a Disney Cruise? And I know this is a stupid question but when I'm looking at prices online is that per person usually - reason the whole fam was looking to go, and getting 3 rooms vs a suite together, I see room prices vary around 500-800 per person, but what I saw on Disney for the mini suite ( 2 bedrooms) together plus couch sleeper that all could share it went up drastically to over 2400! Just curious if its better to get 3 rooms or not -- first time cruiser!! 4951

@350074 Carnival is very kid friendly.  Disney is expensive but of course it is Disney.  They have camp Carnival for younger kids and pre-teens and teens have activities as well.  We took my 6 and 12 year old neice and nephew last year on one and they had a blast. 4951

@350074:
I know with Carnival, the price per person starts dropping after the 2nd person.  So the first 2 people cost the same at a higher rate, the 3rd drops lower, the 4th drops lower, etc... I'm not sure about the suites or having more than 1 stateroom.  I've been told Carnival is very family friendly and if you don't want to pay alot that is the way to go.  I am going on my first cruise in 12 days but it's just me and the BFF.  I am looking into going next year with my family.  We'll see how it goes in with my first one, I'm sure I will get addicted.  LOL! 4951

@butterflykisses: So are you going on the Magic? Cruising is awesome! We do a lot of traveling and since we started cruising we haven't flown as much since you just can't beat the deals.If you are doing the Jamaica, GC, Cozumel route, make sure you make plans for Jamaica. Don't just venture out into town. It's a very poor country and I wouldn't suggest going anywhere alone. Jamaica is the only port that we always book our excursion thru Carnival. The seawinds is awesome and is all inclusive. Also for future reference after you book always check back online or with your planner (who takes care of everything for you ...free!) for deals. We are booked for Sept and not only did our planner later find us a better price and upgrade, he gave me the heads up for a upcoming deal to call him during that time to get onboard credits!!So even though you book, always stay on top of it and check back all the time for deals....cruising is all about saving money and having a great time!!  Enjoy your cruise!!!

We went directly through a Carnival planner for the two cruises we went on. And bearae is correct: stay in frequent contact with your planner; we were able to get additional savings as well after we had already booked. Our boy enjoyed spending the day at Camp Carnival and our teens enjoeyed meeting new people at their club; they still keep in contact with some of them to this day and our last cruise was in 2009. 4951

@bearae: Actually we are going out of Florida on the Ecstasy.  After all the cancellations with the Triumph, it ended up being $10 less going out of Florida with airfare vs. going out of Galveston.  So excited to be going to the Bahamas!
