I am thinking about getting a big 4 1/2-5ft deep  above ground pool and building a deck around it.  Anyone have a set up like this? Love it? Hate it? Good brands? HELP!! 4951

Are you in Kingwood? Check your homeowners covenants..some do not allow above ground pools. Some think it's unsighly and other things..I personally say yay! They are plenty of fun! 4951

When we lived in Indiana we put in a 16' X 33' above gound pool and we loved it. I would suggest to ge the thickest liner that you can find, also make sure that you get a bottom drain intalled it makes cleaning much easier. I also like sand filters, but this is a personal prefrence. 4951

My above ground pool came with the house, we actually have two. Some people refer to them as "tubs" but I just don't want to set my little psychos expectations to high you know! Lol 4951

We had an above-ground when we lived in Florida. Built a huge deck around it, put a hot tub into the deck, added outdoor furniture and a barbeque area, and lighting. Shortly after, the pool came apart somehow and we had to have the pool replaced.... not at all easy installing a pool INTO a deck.We sold the house shortly after. The people who bought it had a 5 year-old boy who got out there the next Mother's Day and walked right off the deck into the covered pool. He was trapped under that cover and  drowned. Emoticon((  I will never forget that. Just something to think about with pools. 4951

@elguapo Sweet! Thanks. How big is it? You're pool, I mean. I'm pretty sure Sherwood Trails lets you have an above ground pool since they obviously don't care what the front of the yards/ houses look like--lol, but I will check. @QueenB When I was 4 my cousin of the same age drown in his pool. That's why I waited til the boys were old before thinking about it.  I wad thinking something like this:  I am in the considering stages at the moment. 4951
